What does "allow copy" exactly mean in case of a Prezi?

If you set your prezi to "Public and Allow Copy," then anyone who views your prezi will have access to save an exact copy of your prezi with a single press of a button.

If you set to "Public and Allow Copy" then anyone will have the ability to save a copy and make any modifications to their copy of your prezi. You are able to set the prezi to "Public" to ensure no one can copy the prezi, but everyone will still be able to view it.

• the question of derivation is partly answered, because it is not clear whether the derivative work must be public if the original work was public (is it a "share-alike" license?)


• is the attribution a must?


• is the commercial use allowed?

The "Public" and "Public & allow copy" terms do not answer these questions. It would be nice if it was possible to choose a CC license instead of these unclear terms.

Hi Szilárd,

If you have a free Public license and have set your prezi to "Allow Copy" then the original work will not affect the derivative work at all. The other person will have to the ability to set their own settings and make any modifications that will not affect the original. Attribution is not required in this case. Commercial use is allowed. If you are worried about your contents being seen, please upgrade your account to Enjoy or Pro. You will be able to set your prezis to private.

Also as a reminder: All Public license prezis automatically get set to Public and Allow copy. This is because our biggest value in prezi is allowing the ability for people to share. If you want to prevent this, please set your prezi to "Pubic" instead.
