Video Conversion Epic Fail!
I have been extolling the virtues of Prezi and am about to give a web presentation on its awesomeness. And then this happens...I CANNOT GET A VIDEO TO UPLOAD/CONVERT/INSERT into my presentation. I have converted to FLV. I have tried letting Prezi convert MP4 for me. I have turned off firewalls, and followed every suggestion for the error codes associated with this. Nothing! NADA! Very, very frustrated. I recorded a video with Camtasia Studio 8 - new release and have tried everything to make this work but it fails. Please, please help!

HI SJG,
you don't say what you're using Desktop or online editor?
- There may be an issue with the type and size of the video, are you able to load another FLV video? Just in case read http://prezi.com/learn/insert-video/ 50MB size for some licences (see bottom)
- If using Desktop, can you try updating your Adobe Air and see if this helps http://get.adobe.com/air/ (if so what version are you using please?)
- Is it that particular Prezi - can you load to another (try a new one)
- Any error codes you can give me?
Let me know how you get on
cheers

I am working from the desktop version of Prezi 3.086. I have a pro license. I am using the most current version of Adobe AIR. (3.2.0.2070)
I have uploaded 3 different versions of my short video clip and none of them will work. I have tried a 1.59 MB MP4 file, a 5.52 MB Flash file, and I have opened several different templates, including a blank page to try and insert the video. I have tried borders and brackets, no borders or brackets, and all kinds of combinations. I even tried loading Prezi on a different computer (both Windows 7 OS) so all of my video files/resources were on a local drive and not a network drive or another shared computer. Every time I allow the video to be uploaded, I get the following return message:
"Prezi could not load a video. Technical details: id: 2110 the reason is: Event [Event type="stateChange" bubbles=false cancelable=false eventPhase=2"
Furthermore, I have to go to the edit button and choose “undo” or close the program and re-launch if that doesn’t work because I am left with my screen locked on a weird box of color.
Thanks for any help or advice.

Hi SGJ,
sorry you are still having trouble with this issue - I was about to say try it in FLV format, but I see you have done that already. If I understand you correctly it seems to be only this particular video that is giving you problems (am I right?) All I can suggest now is that the actual short video clip is corrupt in some way so that even after conversion it will not work - I don't think now that it is a server issue as there is no i/o related event mentioned?
Can you try another FLV video which has not been produced in the same way (Camtasia Studio 8) SGJ and see if that works - I would try it online and in the desktop version to see if this makes a difference - maybe with a different browser if possible
Please let me know how you get on
cheers

I uploaded a couple of other video files to test and they came back as usable. I am not sure why whatever version of this particular file (MP4, FLV, etc.) I'd try to upload always returned corrupt. I re-recorded a new video using Camtasia 8 and uploaded an MP4 file. This time it converted and worked fine. I'm happy with the result and I enjoy the flexibility of Prezi but I am concerned about the randomness of this occurrence. Perhaps the original recorded file was corrupt to begin with but there was no way to tell since it played fine as a stand alone video clip while playing it with other desktop players. Anyway, thanks for the advice and trying to resolve this.
