The proper tools for the proper tasks

I'm a lecturer teaching would-be teachers and other would-be educators. Now I'm going to make a presentation on adult learning at an e-learning conference at a university. Audience will be: professionals who are satisfied with their own opinion and results - and I'm going to show them a new way of approach...

I decided to make something tricky; but I wasn't sure whether I can.

My plan was: to start with a usual PowerPoint presentation: introduction, questions to be answered, principles... some words about the structure of the methodology I demonstrate... no surprise at all. But in the moment I get to the issue how the methodology really works - I'm going to switch to prezi (Alt-Tab): to a dynamic presentation of a process! And then, having finished this part of the presentation, I switch back to say some words about the conclusions in a modest way... That is: I planned a "presentation in the presentation", where the inner presentation is "moving" - in a frame of "serious" and well-known style.

My only problem was that I could get to prezi only yesterday and the conference will be on the day after tomorrow. And what a surprise: after 90 minutes (included the very first steps of learning) my first prezi presentation was ready (fitting to the PP-presentation precisely).

The proper tools for the proper tasks: usual presentation screens for the data and review; prezi for illustrating how it really works.

My presentation will be the first one in the afternoon: just after lunch - but nobody will be sleeping!

    Hi Peter,

    great to hear!

regarding our previous correspondence, some hints about things you missed:

    "linking elements to
be able to move, resize and rotate them together;"
When you are in place mode, you can select multiple items, and transform them together. You can either use the selection rectangle, just drag you mouse to start it, or just shift click on the items you want to select.

    "exclamation mark;"
this is a bug you found, there must be an error in the font... which style have you used?

"different character types and colours; "
this feature is coming, for the moment you need to select the style upfront

"measurement in numbers (to produce precisely equal, double
    etc. sizes and angles)"
when you move, rotate, scale, hold down the shift - this results in constrained movement, rotation, etc, makes it quite easy to create a more 'structured' look!

    good luck for the presentation
    Adam
