sound at certain points on a path
I want to be able to narrate key stops along the path in my prezi. I understand how to make the sound file into a flash file. However, if I use the advice provided on the prezi site, someone would have to click on the speaker icon to have it play. I could live with this except prezi would then focus on the icon.
I want the viewer to be able to look at my text or graphic while hearing the narration (not seeing just a speaker icon). I tried making a flv file that had a black screen with audio and placing that behind the text or image I want seen (with black area larger than text/image so that when focus goes to height of black screen the other images/text can be seen on top).
Unfortunately, when the flv file is behind something else, it doesn't seem to auto-play when clicked on. In fact, when I tried to click on the black behind, prezi zoomed out without playing the sound and preventing me form seeing the graphics/text on top of the black.
Adding the ability to play sound at a particular stop on the path (not looping & without focusing on the flv file) would be a huge benefit and great feature.

Inappropriate?Dear Vincent,
would you like to play sound
1. when someone arrives to a specific object on the path (pressing TAB, clicking next arrow)
or
2. when someone clicks an object
or
3. both
?
we are working on flash api so I think you can attachs sound to your prezi in the near future.

Inappropriate?Ideally, I would like for the sound to play when someone arrives to a specific object on the path (option1), but can see how it would be helpful to also have a way to let someone click an object for the sound to start. So, I guess my vote would be option 3.
For instance, if you want to add narration, you want your viewer to be looking at an object (like a map, illustration, diagram, etc.) while they hear the audio explanation. You don't want them to see the map then zoom to an icon of a speaker for explanation of that map. You want the map as the visual focus and the sound playing at the same time. Then you move on to the next stop on the path with new narration.
I've used prezi for live presentations before (example: http://prezi.com/131767/), but would also like to have a version that someone could browse whenever they wanted and still hear the commentary.
Thanks for considering this. I'm excited to hear it may be an option soon!
I’m looking forward to this capability!

Inappropriate?Did this question get answered? I too want to add audio narration while seeing the visual map.
I've tried importing the sound file along with a black screen but it hasn't been helpful because a) I don't need the black screen in my presentation and b) it doesn't show the part of the prezi that I want along with the audio.
Also, how far off is the MP3 importing?? Days,...months,...years? It would make it a lot easier and then it would be a great alternative to a slidecast on slideshare. -
Inappropriate?Hi! No, it does not exist yet as far as I can tell but in another thread I have read: "we are working on a solution for this. Soon you can add labeled keyframes, animations that you can control by adding the path separately to frames." This should enable sound playing at different locations on the path.
A workaround if you don't want a black frame might be to make an image 1x1 pixel as part of a flash movie with sound, that way it will not show as much. Yeah, mp3 or wav import would really help! -
Inappropriate?Vincent link here: http://prezi.com/it1-dnrxkiwk/ for my prezi with sound and see if that is what you want to happen.
Those little black bits poking out are the FLV files which are sitting behind the pics and I have the FLVs selected in the path. I could have actually put my graphics in the FLV as a still, or made a simple pic one shade lighter than the background so it wasn't as obvious. I will keep working on these things. Sorry this prezi isn't terribly exciting - they are for a six year old to share news at school.
I’m hoping this helps

Thanks for sharing! This was exactly what I was trying to do, but it wouldn't work for me... The audio did not "auto play" when I had the black square (FLV file) placed behind something (The image I wanted people to focus on). I'll try again. Perhaps I messed something up with the FLV file. (Did you do anything special to the FLV file?)
