Hi,
Can we add this work around to the portable-clicker support page on the help site.
If you only have a portable clicker that emulates mouse clicks then simply follow these steps to enable your clicker live.
1. load your prezi and click Edit Prezi.
2. Press space bar to bring up show mode.
3. Press m to remove the toolbar.
4. click on your browser menu bar and click view >> fullscreen.
Now you prezi is in full screen but you can also use your clicker to navigate.

I just tried to do this - I have a Macbook Pro - if I click on edit Prezi and then press space bar I don't get show mode, nothing happens. I really need to figure out how to use a portable clicker for a presentation I have to give next Monday. All I need is a way to advance /go back each page, don't need zoom. If you are using a downloaded flash .exe to show your prezi you do not need to worry about space bar. Simply click the full screen button down on the bottom right corner (within the prezi) and then use your clicker like normal.
Though oddly enough, my $10 cheap clicker works with downloaded prezis but my $100+ logitech pro model does not. So you'll need to see whether your clicker is compatible with flash. -

I tried this with my remote clicker X-pointer. Its buttons are set to mouse scroll wheel up and down, not editable. And it does not work according to the instruction above. Its buttons are working as if mouse pointer is on the center of the screen and scroll wheel activate up and down. Is there anyone has a good solution? -

In response to petergold99. As per the title and description this is for use with browsers, not the full desktop version. Though I believe the full desktop version is a similar method.
I have this working in almost all major browsers (Chrome, Firefox, IE), so if you're having trouble, perhaps detail you steps, and browser version and we can see where you are having trouble. -

Hi, I still can't make my remote control works with Prezi.
I have the Prezi Desktop installed in my MacBook PRO and I'm trying to use my Apple Remote (MC377AM/A) but nothing happens.
Will someone could tell me how to make presentations with the Apple Remote, please? It works wonderfully with Keynote.

I have an Interlink Electronics Remote Point Global Presenter wireless mouse, and it works just fine in regular Prezi fullscreen mode. I didn't have to do a workaround at all. Just sayin'.

Until now I didn't receive any support to make Prezi works with my Apple remote. Unfortunately I have to stop using Prezi in my presentations because I don't want to be tied to a keyboard during my speech.
Is it too complicated to solve?

Came here with a renewed desire (after giving up on most options a year ago) for finding suggestions on using Prezi with remotes.
I wanted to use an app to control Prezi. After a bit of Googling, I found this http://www.splashtop.com/remote . They have a number of apps that work mostly for Apple devices. I needed it to work with Android, so I got their Splashtop Remote Desktop.
I installed it with the expectation that I would be getting the return in 15 minutes refund from Android. To my shock, it works quite well and may be the answer some of you are looking for.
In short, the Remote Desktop is a two part deal:
1. Download and install their "Streamer" software (free) on your computer, first.
2. Get the app from Apple App store or Android market. (394 yen for me/ about $5 USD).
Once you have setup the password on your computer, the phone, pad of whatever device you are using will connect via wireless (no 3G support). With this particular application, I can now control my laptop entirely from my HTC Desire HD phone. Fullscreen mode isn't a worry since the inputs are treated just like anything from a mouse or keyboard.
I just started using this app (have a presentation to give this weekend) but I'm amazed by the fact I can access anything I like (Prezi, video files, documents, whatever) and control it all by dragging my finger around my smartphone's screen.
I'll report back if the honeymoon doesn't last, but I hope this can help some of you who are as desperate as I was to find a quick solution to the Prezi remote conundrum.

That worked on my iPhone and Mac, thanks! The only thing I don't like is I might have to look down to make sure I'm hitting the forward button.

For those using Mac and iPhone, just wanna share this alternative for Remote Clicker for Prezi.
Make your iPhone the remote clicker.
Check this Mobile Mouse App ($1.99 or get the Lite free version) and install it in your iPhone.
It can serve as your remote mouse, trackpad and remote clicker.
It connects via WiFi.
You also need to download the Mobile Mouse Server App for your Mac from the App Store.
It works seamlessly in a WiFi environment.
It can also work with your Prezi Desktop version offline by creating a network with your iPhone via WiFi.
I'm happy with it.-
Just downloaded this. it does seem to work pretty well, though I have to keep the little pointer on the screen right ON the "next" button. a small price to pay for something that works. Thanks!!

1I recently found out how to get my remote to work with Prezi, and I would like to see if others have the same success. At first I could not get my remote to work with Prezi for the longest time, and then I found out that the remote buttons were clicking the Page Up and Page Down buttons on the keyboard and not the left and right arrow buttons that Prezi uses for navigation. I then downloaded a keyboard remapper and mapped the Page Up key to the left arrow and the Page Down key to the right arrow. I can now control Prezi from the Fullscreen preview screen with my remote, and I do not need the workaround listed above. This has worked for both my Kensington and Logitech remotes running on Firefox.

1For people wanting to use their apple remote, you could get Better Touch Tool. It allows you to assign each button of the remote to a different function like the left and right arrow keys for example.

Your presenter may be firing a mouse click to advance. Try positioning your cursor over the next button and see if it works.
