iPads are cool, we all agree with that. At Prezi we prefer to say that portable multi touch devices are cool, because the iPad is surely just the early bird in the market. Since many of you ask us every day if we were thinking about developing an iPad version of Prezi, we'd like to go a little beyond the wow factor and ask:
How would you use Prezi on the iPad? We're excited to hear your stories!
-
I would love to have Prezi on the IPad, with the ability to link it up and present from it. I deliver training sessions, and I do use Prezi for some of them, but the IPad is easy to carry around. Combining the two would be excellent!
-
-
will create and edit prezis anytime anywhere since I have my iPad with me most of the time. if need be will project from Elmo in class.
-
-
I'm using iPad for any presentations...I would love a simply app to play my Prezi show and present it...I don't need a Prezi editor on iPad, simply a presenter!

This could be realized with HTML5, CSS3 and some JS. Older browsers could still use the flash version.

I would use it for sure. Can't wait! Not so much for creating but more for presenting. Now i use keynote, but that's no fun if you don't have a mac to create them on

Great input, thanks! So from your feedback it seems that the portability is a very important aspect. Also it's interesting if you would use the iPad to edit or present from only. Looking forward to learning more!

Im a proces consultant and i would love being able to EDIT prezis on iPad, drawings, Photos and more during conferences and workshops using participants contributions. Please Can we do that?
-
-
I'd love to be able to both! I'm hoping to rid myself of a laptop and be a desktop/iPad only user. So it would be great if software started treating the iPad like a full on device....I probably wouldn't CREATE an entire presentation on iPad but certainly would want to be able to edit things.

I would like to use it, I have bought the display adapter already for my ipad ;)
I would like to use it in offline-mode, have an easy possibility to transfer my prezi from my linux or mac box to the ipad and vice versa so I can work on my prezi on the ipad but also on my linux or mac box.
I appreciate prezi :).
Best,

I could work on my Prezis on the go! Preparing presentations for my projects an my clients. Working on the train, at a park, etc.
I take my iPad almost everywhere with me. I could share my ideas with somebody at a café or present an idea quickly.
I need the whole package: editing and presenting on the go. -
-
Could have two levels of pricing. How about a free app for only presenting existing prezis, and a paid app for the full editing package? then it would suit everyone

Yes, of course - but some people will only access Prezi as an app on the Ipad. So maybe if you are a paying customer already and want the paid app you can be sent a code to enter to unlock the app
-

It would be great to be able to give a personal demonstration of our capabilities while on our first visit with a client. Doing so on the ipad would provide a very intimate format and the ability to WOW a client the first time you meet them. Please...Please...Pretty Please create a Prezi app for the Ipad!

The iPad is a great one on one or one one two presentation device (have used it twice today already) and given that it can also be plugged into a projector it's also useful as a group presentation device (i imagine as I haven't used it for this yet) so it's kind of a no brainer for Prezi to be on it. Prezi's non traditional presentation display method lends itself to a touch based interface.
-
-
I agree - the ability to present for me is key basic editing would be nice, but I would do all my design on my desktop app. Specific applications:
I would take it to professional conferences so I could present, take notes during sessions and live tweet.
During interviews at professional conferences, we could do a quick briefing on our company easily using the iPad and prezi.
I work for an apartment management company and it would be great to be able to take an iPad to housing fairs and show property information on the iPad (especially if we're using it as a giveaway). -
-
Wow great points guys, thanks! Most of you say you would better use prezi for presenting rather than editing. Do you think that the iPad is generally not a productivity tool?

I will have a classroom set of iPads to teach with next year and I would certainly use the iPad to edit. However, it would also be extremely nice for video and those nice SWF files to show up on the iPad...is there a way you could at least make the videos non-Flash?
-
-
My work with Prezi is hindered by the fact that I can't create and edit any Prezis in Ipad, which I use daily for work. I think HTML5 will provide a better and bigger Prezi community
-
-
-
-
Creating a Prezi by dragging objects around, pinching with two fingers to scale and rotate them, then framing the same way would be a dream to use. Then when presenting, connecting the VGA out directly to the projector, swiping forward and backwards through the frames with three fingers, or directly controlling the view with a single finger drag and two finger pinch zoom. Instantly convincing the 10+ iPad users in my immediate department that Prezi is in fact magical.
-
Connection to Prezi.com for storage and download of Prezi files would be critical, but when it comes to editing, connection to Dropbox, sharing between apps, and app folder syncing in iTunes would all be helpful ways to import source material.
-
-
thanks, great use case!

The iPad is the perfect teaching device. I use it with my students (1 on 1) to cover materials. We also have pdf versions of manuals online for the machine they use.
I use the iPad for twitter, news feed reading and the BIG, (I mean BIG) plus is the simple and elegant integration that allows one to e.g. switch to a web browser, return with a single button press, copy an item to e.g. instapaper, emil and / or tweet an item, etc, etc.-
Cool! Do you happen to have any video recording of such an iPad class? It's so great to learn about the most advanced technology already used in the classrooms!

PS, It would be nice to be able to edit on iPad. Take a look at how well Keynote does on a touch interface ;-)) But I'd still rather have Prezi!
-
-
I do a lot of selling during lunch, and even my 12 in. tablet is cumbersome to use in this setting.
The iPad is instant on, fast and very capable, with a beautiful screen. I think a Prezi app would certainly be preferable for me to a browser based solution (if this is even possible on mobile Safari), and would likely perform better too.
I use the free version of Prezi, but would pay for an iPad app in a heartbeat. I know you currently work on the subscription model, but maybe the app could be free for those who are subscribers (like the model Spotify uses).
Of course, Prezis that are created online in Flash would somehow have to be transferable to the iPad, and vice versa.
To me, this would be a killer app!!-
I would pay $10 for the app and upgrade to Pro with out hesitation.
-
-
Great use case! When you present during your lunch meetings, do you use Keynote now?
-
-
-
-
-
Yes, please!
In the beginning, I would really like to use it as a presentation device to large audiences and small groups. I would want to have video out capabilities. Eventually, I would like to be able to create presentations directly on the device. In either case, I would like to be able to use features of pinching and zooming in within the prezi. With the ability to embed videos, this could be an awesome way to show videos without having to jump out to another application. With the ability to insert images, I would like to be able to zoom in/pinch to fill the screen with the image or just a portion of the image. -
-
-
-
please make a version for ipad. I would use prezi for all my presentations if i could. i would like to be able to embed videos and images- and a nice simple way of presenting. when presenting onto big screen I would like a split screen on ipad- one side with what is being projected, and the other customizable- maybe with time, what the next path step is gonna be, prompt notes or something like that.
either way------- even if i could just play the prezi it would be amazing.
when playing though, you might need to add some nice discreet buttons at the bottom so that you can zoom with ease, as well as just use the touch screen. -
-
If there was an iPad version of Prezi, I wouldn'd need to carry my big heavy laptop with me! I could review/discuss/edit my prezi right from my iPad (or iPhone for that mater!) with my peer at any coffee shop..
(This was typed in a few seconds using my wireless apple keyboard!) -
-
Thanks for the great stories, guys! we'd love to have even more! Reading your current use cases of the iPad I wonder: do you ever use the iPad with a projector?

Absolutely use it with a projector. As a teacher, Prezi is a great tool.
-
-
I do most of my work from an iPad these days and use the prezi viewer to present to clients. The most important feature should be that it works with ios5 mirroring using the apple tv. If there were a paid app for editing I would be happy to buy a copy. At the moment I have to use keynote if I need to create a presentation on the fly.

Ok, do you mean the concept or just the presenting?
What I mean is the concept of collaborative multi-touch presenting tool or just a viewer..
I'm with the collaborative multi-touch presenting tool on the multi-touch table where multiple users can work collaboratively in the same time.. and multiple finger gestures on prezi..
I have some ideas about the multi-touch thing that i can share with Prezi!! =)-
Great, please go on! I wanted to know how you currently use the iPad. Do you use it now with a projector with any apps?
-
-
Actually i did not have an iPad, but i've done 2 projects on the multi-touch surface top table. That's why i'm excited for seeing Prezi working on a multi-touch environment (example is iPad).

1. Imagine-sitting quietly using Prezi to Mind Map your next meeting.
2. Imagine-5 students sitting around an iPad co-creating their project using Prezi.
3. Imagine Prezi as groupware, allowing the audience to watch their collaboration emerge on a large screen.
4. Imagine the Wow factor when a presenter uses the sexy iPad and Prezi to create a totally new learning experience for the audience.
5. In the above, imagine the BUZZ of possibilities that will be created around iPad and Prezi! -
-
Zoli:
Thanks for opening this discussion. I'm glad you are taking our request for an iPad version of Prezi so seriously.
To be really useful, a Prezi iPad app would have to be like the Keynote iPad app, i.e., supporting both presentation and editing. But since Keynote on the iPad is not fully compatible with the desktop version, a Prezi iPad app would need to be better. I have no doubt you can accomplish that. :>)
IMHO, right now, the best presentation options for the iPad are the PDF presenter apps, such as, well, PDF Presenter. A Prezi iPad app would represent a quantum leap in quality.
One of the biggest criticisms of the iPad is that it is not a content creation device. A Prezi iPad app with editing capability would help undermine that critique and place a great deal more power in the hands of content creators.
I am using my iPad for presentations and it works well. I purchased a 25 ft VGA cable so I could use it while still moving around. I am also using my iPad as an executive portfolio, with note taking via Evernote. A Prezi iPad app would fit in well with my use case since I could create Prezis to show to clients in small groups as well as for conferences. Integration with Evernote would be a great long term goal.
I am currently an alpha tester for a new iPad app that is intended to map business models. I am paying to be a part of the group and it is worth considering a similar business model for developing a Prezi iPad app.
Overall, I think you have ample reason to conclude that a Prezi iPad app would be a big hit. Now I hope you'll move forward with developing it. Like everyone else who is posted, I'd be happy to answer any questions you may have and in testing an app.
Thanks,
Jeff -

I've been asking myself whether there will be an iPad version of prezi ever since the announcement of the iPad... I would love to use prezi on the iPhone for creating presentations AND for showing them in classes, conferences, meetings etc.

ups, I forgot to say that I've, ever since I've been using prezi, thought that this application could be THE app to run on an iPad... they seemed to be made for each other... a perfect marriage! :-)

The ipad is almost custom made for education and Prezi and ipad are a match made in heaven! Please PLEASE give us an app. Since I plan on using my ipad for classroom presentations in the fall can you tell me if an app will be available? If so, I'll begin to get ready for it.
-

I'd love to see a editng / viewing app of Prezi on the iPad / iPhone .
You could also do a synchronise option :
Start a Prize on iPad press thé sychn button, that give you a code
Enter the code on the same presentation on the website from a computer (pluged to a big screen) and voilà you have a sychned Prezi aka a great remote :) -

IPad is perfect vehicle for prezis. Carry into mtgs, wow everyone. It's a marriage made in heaven. !!
This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled
iPad app please! Asap!.-
I specifically purchased the ipad for sales presentations for work. I'm an avid user of Prezi (the interntet and desktop version) and I've been trying to get my company to purchase the professional version for full use. With the addition of ipads to our sales arsenal they are looking for the best presentiation apps/software to use and are interested in purchasing prezi for ipad. we currently use ppt. primarily so we want to include photos and videos to show the "Sports Culture" that we sell. Using Prezi on ipad to do so seems like it would be the best way to do both.

I posted some time ago that Prezi makse an excellent tool for doing interactive diagramming (such as flow charts and org charts...I also decried the fact that we can't create custom frames to mimic standard flowchart shapes...but I digress). In an intimate setting (small meeting), the iPad would be the perfect device for sharing such a presentation. It's also good for a quick sales pitch in an impromptu setting, such as in an elevator with the CEO. ;-)
-
-
Sometimes for a change of pace we take clients or potential hires to nearby coffee shop and use the iPad for presenting (instead of using the beamer in the office conference room). Presenting a Prezi instead of simple PDF slides on the iPad would be a great way to wow clients, prospects, and potential hires.
-
I agree. Prezi seems like a perfect match..if it were not for the Flash issue. the iPad is a great conversation starter. Through on a fully loaded Prezi and it would be a slam dunk. I will have to test out converting to a video and playing. Would love if someone that has already gone this route has one to share

Like most everyone here it's about Prezi working on the iPad.
In order I would prioritize my Prezi needs as:
1. Embedding - I would want to able to make Prezis viewable by the millions of iPad and iPhone users. I was going to sign up to create a few prezis to embed in my blog but decided against it when the whole flash/html5 war started and was told there were no plans for html5 prezi
2. If this is different on your end, a presenter mode - I would want to be able to output video and use a remote to control a prezi led presentation
3. Editing/creation - this would naturally be awesome but isn't an immediate must -
-
We create a lot of tutorials using Prezi, both for our faculty and students. I would set up a tutorial prezi on an ipad and just hand it to tutorial attendees asking a particular question.
-
-
I teach surgery at a major university and the iPad has become my tool of choice for creating presentations (Keynote). It goes with me from the clinic, to operating room, to classroom. I create presentations on the fly, educate patients using content I've created, and project presentations in the classroom to medical students and residents.
I love the added dimensions that Prezi provides and I can see that this would become my tool of choice if content creation and presentation were available for the iPad. iPads are selling at a rate of 3 million in 80 days with no slowing. I see them in the hands of my faculty and students all over the university.
We would welcome and support Prezi for the iPad.-
Agreed. Our whole medical school student body is given iPod touches currently and may shift to iPad. Prezi would give them guided instruction that they could go back to later without having to watch a whole video and search for the part they didn't get. It would also allow us to embed details and videos that not everyone would want to see. Very easy to use for faculty, as opposed to writing web pages with similar features.

I'm first of all wondering if any one employed by Prezi uses an iPad? Once you have one, you know its elegance and power, which also describes Prezi. It is the most powerful presentation app -- the visual display accents the issues and subissues. It's beautiful. And when the iPad is your tool, you want the Prezi usable on it too. It's a magical combination.
From all the comments so far, the people at Prezi should see that the iPad is not a glorified iPhone-- it is a productivity and presentation tool; it's carried with its owner every where every day.
I certainly would love to share my embedded presentations on the iPad (a sinking feeling to link and see a blank when magic should appear). I also want to show them not just embedded, but from an app. And I want to create, edit, and sync Prezis-- because of the impact it has through it's delivery.
The only reason I'm not using Prezi more is because it is Flash-based. I know that it sometimes won't work, and that's not acceptable.
Several people have commented on the seemingly natural connection between iPad and Prezi -- to edit by touch just seems like a match.
Considering the different entities already presented here (educators, businesses, doctors) and the number of iPads already out there, isn't it time for a Prezi app for the iPad/iPhone?
You're already magical; be revolutionary. Please? -
-
I'd love a version of Prezi on the iPad. Initially maybe just to present, but later to edit as well. Can't wait to see if you can make this happen.

Oh wow, jimmiewhite, why do you think they are hesitating? This whole topic was set up so they can determine what is needed for making an iPad version. It is not as if they can just tweak what they have at hand--they have to completely rebuild it without Flash. The fact that Zoli started this topic and that the Prezi staff are reading it is fantastic and shows they are taking this seriously. Not everything is instant. ;)

I've been thinking about this some more...
One of the things I struggle with is the overwhelmingness of a computer workstation. It's big, and awkward, and when I'm trying to help someone, there's a lot of reaching and pointing and still struggling to get a point across. I think this is where mobile devices (ipad, ipod, iphone, future tablets) are going to really change the way I work. With something like an ipad, I can demo along with someone who's working on a thorny problem, and show them the answer without having to really pull them away from their own task.
What I love about prezi is that it lets me take a whole series of screencasts and merge them into one teaching object. I can imagine working with someone, moving to the part of the prezi that they need help with, and handing the device off to them to go through, all while not leaving their workstation and keeping their work on the screen.
I agree with the others above who say that it would be amazing to create on an ipad as well, more than amazing really, but my first priority is to allow non-flash devices to view and interact with an embedded prezi. That has the biggest bang for the buck, for sure. It would open up who can use my material online, and would allow me to include prezis behind QR codes around my campus. That's truly rich media! -
-
I would love to use tis for teaching. Please make it compatible with the VGA lead so we can output to a projector or IWB.
-
-
-
-
I would love to be able to edit Prezi on my iPad. I use the iPad as a very portable productivity tool.
-
-
The reason I love Prezi is the natural way in which we see the presentations, however it's not so natural the way to create them.
With the iPad, we could experience not only the "natural way" in viewing the prezis but also we could enjoy creating them. -
-
I am using press for some time now from my tablet pc. I really enjoy the way it works and would like to have it also on my iPad.
As some other all have said it would be great to have edit and presenting capabilities. And I agree fully with dluquin that I am looking forward to experience all the good of prezi and iPad together. -
-
I am an information management consultant who now uses a Macbook at the home office and an iPad throughout the day when away from then office or on the road. Tonight is my first time on the Prezi website (with my iPad), wanting to get started. Alas, all the sample presentations promoting your product are unavailable to me because they are in flash. If I was a typical web surfer, you would be losing a customer right off the bat.
Since I am not typical, I will be back. Ways I want to use Prezi on my iPad:
- view others' presentations
- create and edit
- present from my iPad when at conferences or client meetings
- post Prezi files to my blogs
Thank you for working on this! I look forward to giving Prezi a try for the first time soon. -
-
Thanks for the continuous feedback. I can tell you that the whole Prezi team reads this topic now. Thanks again for the use cases!

Presenting using Prezi on the iPad would create the same feeling a user experiences when trying Google Maps/Earth on the iPad - that this is how it was *meant* to be used - with very direct and intuitive pinch / pan gestures.
My main frustration with Prezi is its limited range of zoom accuracy. If you're going for a ZUI metaphor to underpin the whole project, the zoom range needs to cover more than 3 orders of magnitude so that users do not run into that wall at the upper/lower limits. When zooming, it's pretty effortless to traverse a few factors of ten with just a couple of jumps.
If those limits could be addressed - and more flexibility around text fonts, styles and colours were added this would probably become my main presentation tool - across desktop and iPad. -
-
I agree. Here is a video showing prezi on a touchsreen laptop. It feels just right to use prezi like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sUDr8g...

-
Well I would like Prezi to be able to be used portably and offline while on-the-go so that I can do my presentation while on the train and upload it later for sharing :)
Oh and any chance of an iPhone/iPod version as well? -
-
Of course, the main problem with a Prezi app is out of the developers control - and that is the fact that Flash is not available on the IPad, and unless the dispute is resolved soon, won't be either. So Prezi would have to develop the app without using Flash, which I believe it currently uses on the desktop.
-
-
I only recently discovered Prezi, and I would love to see it on an iPad. I'm a long time mind mapper, I wish that most of the mind mapping software had a Prezi type presentation feature, it would be so much better than the Powerpoint implementations I've seen. As to Prezi on an iPad, when Prezi makes/develops their app for an IPad I will buy it.
I personally would like to create Prezi presentations and give Prezi presentations from the iPad. The iPad is such a great content device so it does make sense, grabbing images from the Photo app, adding text changing Font sizes, Zooming in/out, rotating images and text, then exporting/uploading my creation to YouTube. If Prezi were to use some of the Collaboration tools that many mindmapping tools use, like Crowdmap where a group could work on a Prezi Presentation collaboratively in addition to private Prezi's that would be extremely cool and useful.
Presenting Prezi's from the iPad, I think as long as it can use the AV Component or Composite Out accessory then I will like it. The options for presenting should range from playing a video file, stepping through a presentation like you can in Keynote or a photoslide show, with or without transitions. Also being able to give a web presentation with a tool like MightyMeeting or FuzeMeeting or via the Prezi website if I uploaded the presentation to the website. It would be great to have people logged into the website, but being able to control the flow of the presentation from the iPad. -
-
I would like a presenter app so that I could show my presentations to colleagues as we meet at different sites so we can share and brainstorm or work on ideas together where we have wi-fi, but no computers to use.
-
-
As Ipad seems not so good for creative work, an Ipad app similar to portable prezi could be great. I am a medical school lecturer and I would love to make prezis with simpler paths for zooming images and algorithms at will.
-
-
It will wonderful if Prezi make an application in two version for iPad. The first one be a free presenter and the second one acts as an editor. As a University prof. iPad is my tools and when my job is related to my presentation, what is more useful?
I hope that Prezi make it ASAP. -
-
It is meant to be! iPad is the perfect complement to the work you have done with prezi. If you were to design an ideal device to run prezi it will be the iPad.
Charge for it, it really doesn't matter, but if you don't do it, you are probably going to loose market share. -
-
Well the touch interface would be a really great thing. not only the iPad folks, but also the iPhone4 folks. The retina display has as good a resolution as most of the screen projectors, and also nothing makes elevator pitch fly than showing a prezi on the iPhone 4 you pulled out of your pocket.
I saw people watching architectural photography and animations on the iPhone in the coffee shop with great impact.
The first thing to fix would be the flash player dependence of the online prezi > HTML5 with the safari touch guidelines.
The app (editing or offline play) can definitely be a revenue generator item, like FileMaker Mobil, Bento, iWork, or any other productivity app.
I think the iPad/iPhone4 (safari mobile) issue is more than marketshare thing, it is a leapfrogging platform over ppt and keynote - with the coolness factor of the TED.
Probably editing on the iPhone would be clumsy experience, but the iPad ( and the mac with the new multi-gesture touchpad) is simply made for it.
on a somewhat unrelated note: (case study)- amazing typo animation:

I would say to spend a little time on fixing the host of major bugs on the standard platform before branching out. Prezi remains hard to use for those that use it on a daily basis due to several crippling bugs.
-
-
I'd love to see an iPad app for "presentation mode" for Prezi. Just a back and next button is all I'd need. That would solve all my problems :)
-

Zoli, very nice a lot of people are following this threath. My question is when will prezi start working on a solution for the iPad? Is there a roadmap? When can we test something?

Hi guys,
Yes, this topic is awesome. Thanks for all the great inspiration and input. We have learned a LOT here and I can tell you that our team checks this topic often. However I cannot promise anything at this point. Please keep on sharing good ideas! -
-
Zoli, it's great that the Prezi team is staying on top of this conversation. But at this point, I don't think that's good enough. You have overwhelming evidence that we want and will use a Prezi app on the iPad. What more do you guys need to take action? Someone wrote that the time for talk is over. Now is the time to act. I hope you guys will be more proactive.
-

I agree with Jeff. People are dying for a Prezi app and the iPad/iPhone/iPod Touch platform is not particularly a small one, having literally millions and millions of users around the world. Now should be the time to take advantage of this immense platform. In my view it'll be nothing but beneficial to Prezi's growth.
-
Agree with Nick. If Prezi is not convinced about the iOS as an important platform, here is another bellweather: http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,2817,...

As a new Prezi user I've just read this thread top to bottom. All of Zoli's comments seem to be aimed at keeping you all quiet. It feels very much like a tease with no intention to deliver. Possibly in the hope that eventually Flash will work on the iPad.
It's well past time for Prezi to either announce a roadmap or their intention to never deliver. This thread is a joke.-

Do you know of any other pan&zoom presentation tools that will work on iPad? Maybe even do it one better so it is not just navigating a 2-D flat sheet of paper, but also zooming and panning in on planar entities in 3-D space.

Any news? As a teacher, prezi is a very good way to keep students attention but since it doesn't run in my iPad, i have been forced to look for other options, but I would definitely prefer prezi! Please let us know asap
-
-
I would DEFINATELY use it a lot to give presentations to one or two others. I expect I could also link it with a projector of some kind for presentations to larger groups.
-
-
I use prezi for speaking engagements and am beginning to use my laptop less and less. My iPad is becoming my go to mobile device because of quick load times and easier connectivity and mobility. Would love to just quickly pull out my iPad to do concept demos for clients using prezi.
-
-
I would hate that because the IT world doesn't only spin around iThing and I'd rather appreciate the full "path-control" implemented in the regular Prezi web version or desktop version...
sorry to sound a bit bitter but I'm fed up with the iThing monopole which corrupted focuses of many IT projects -
-
Ok, you gave us the platform for discussion. Whats the next step?
-
what about focusing on the web version or finishing the desktop version (like including PDF with the desktop version) before moving to another platform...
I know that we've been all used to Microsoft product or Apple product that are clearly unfinished before hitting the market and we love to update tons of MB of patches and whatsoever, but for once a clean and cut program that fully works in its web version or regular OS versions would be great.
Come on, we can't even control the path speed or path movement, which is to me, a must have.
Then, I'll support Prezi's lot to move on the iPad version but before embed the one year old idea that are supported by a large extent of the user community -

My company uses an obscene amount of PowerPoint (innovation consulting firm) and I would like to scrap it all and use Prezis only for all our client presentations. The iPad would definitely give it a wowzah factor, and we find many of our clients use ipads and we have many I internally. I'm neither a Mac or PC person, I'm a "whatever works best" person and I do in this case think prezi would do well with apple-related products.
Mac - people love the look, feel and UI of MacBooks but business users avoid them because their office suite sucks and it is stupid to run windows on a Mac all the time. With prezi, they can buy a Mac and just use prezi.
iPad - other than being complementary in terms of cool UIs with prezi, editing and creating on the iPad makes good sense too... I can see the zebra working very well with multitouch as users are already intuitive to panning, rotating, zooming in and out with their fingers. Also because prezi is packaged so simply and beautifully, ipad users would not need the precision required with PowerPoint, precision that stops me from creating any on my iPad.
I too used to 'hate' apple for selling lower hardware spec-ed products, slapping super restrictive proprietary software on it, and selling them at higher price... But it still remains that they create great products that people love, and more importantly, buy. Missing out on this boat would be a big mistake. Look what happened when Sony etc ignored the iPod, and how iphones continue to fly off the shelves despite so many other better-hardware-spec-ed me-toos from leading companies. Every co now emulates the iphone's interface. Apple is here to stay.
It may not sell more than all of the other brands pooled together, but I suspect apple lovers, people who are nit picky about cool UIs and interfaces etc (versus pure functionality, because then they would just use ppt which they already have and don't need to pay for), are more likely to buy prezi. Prezi is a great visual tool :) -
-
Just make this happen already. I'm a college professor and need this to present to my students in multiple classrooms with varying technology. If you could make some kind of viewer, I could just plug my iPad into the projector in each room. If you can't make this happen by spring, and the ability to embed polleverywhere, I'm just going to have to go back to PowerPoint. My students are already hooked, but you're literally losing 100s of potential users from me alone if I have to go back to PowerPoint. For crying out loud, slide rocket embeds polleverywhere. Do I have to use that?

another voice strongly desirous of the Prezi iPad app.
choosing not to engage the iCrap debate. just know that:
1. a viewer NOW would solve >85% of the need
2. editing is important, but not mission critical
3. the PDF and mp4 options really lose the prezi magic in the translation.
4. someone is going to solve this challenge soon -- there's too much demand and the idea has gone viral. no way to keep this from happening.
as a company, you seem to have evolved quite well, and generally, i'm very happy with the project -- usually not the guy to buy the upgrade service, but i did, largely out of loyalty to what i perceive as a very customer-focused company.
please don't continue to debate this internally, either go for it or don't. and do us the service us letting us know either way, because there's a lot more on the line for many people than just some random presentation. you have provided us a new way to express ideas, and that's a big responsibility. -
-
Guys, I know it takes time to redo your awesome product. But four months of "yes good, keep telling us your stories" is way too long. Just make a decision! People have been so patient, and they probably will continue if you at least give some direction. I don't believe there is an adequate alternative right now to what you have created but there might soon be one. Loyalty does have it's limits!
-
Wholly agree with what Marcelino has (very politely) mentioned. I must also admit to beginning to get a little frustrated with the "keep the feedback coming. We love you" posts. Like many others have said, just take a stance - and tell us. Especially if we're paying for Prezi!

@Zoli,
I think people have made there point clear: Prezi must be available on the Ipad. If Apple is not going to support flash, make a App for it!
In my opinion, if you don't work on this youre gonna loose worldwide a whole big deal of users (who are free evangelist) for Prezi.
If you do find out a way to get Prezi running on a Ipad (make a App), i am convinced this will boom your business greatly!
So get to work! -
-
I will buy a prezi app for the iPad immediately I will pay up to $30 for it and I know others who would also.
I want to be abel to edit my prezi's and I want to be able to use multi touch to navigate during the presentation so I can use my wireless vga adaptor and actually walk across the stage with my iPad in my hand driving the prezi beyond the path zooming in and out a it takes my fancy.
Make an app and I'll not only buy it I will find you investors to pay for the development if you want. -
-
The iPad has de facto replaced my laptop. Since having used Prezi I don't feel i want to bother with any other presentation software anymore. Ergo, I need Prezi for iPad. I feel that I need less text using Prezi to convey the same message. That's why Prezi would be ideal for creating presentations on the iPad. The creation process on Prezi also feels more tactile (spinning wheels, moving items on a large surface, etc) which suits the iPad experience.
-
-
In sales, the iPad with prezzi will be a winner, both for one on one presentations as well as projector based presentations, so for me the vga output is a serious requirement. Also, working with dropbox is an absolute requirement for me.
I often share content between my own devices and team on dropbox. -
-
Building a Prezi right now for a client to take to Morocco. He wants to play it on an iPad...would be cool. We don't need to build prezis on the iPad (yet) just present @brandonrg

Yezzi for Prezi on Ipad. A place independed workspace !!!

Whats Yezzi?
-
-
-
-
-
How about your plans? Are you actually going to build à Prezi APP? If so, when will it be available?
-
-
So am I... I am stil considering buying an iPad, but I love Prezi too! A combination of them both would rock my world!
And Zoli, I would use the iPad as an demonstration tool to show my Prezi's. It would be great if could alter them too, but not necessary for me.
Please tell us you are going to make sure it works on the iPad soon! -
-
Agreed... presenting is the primary goal here. The iPad is "sexy." Prezi is "sexy." Put the two together, and.... BAMMM! :-)
-
-
I would use Prezi instead of keynote. I always carry my iPad with me and would be able to make great presentations on the go.
-
-
Putting together an investor pitch for my 4th start-up. Planned to use Prezi instead of PPT for larger meetings with a projector, but would also like to make the same presentation on an iPad for 1 on 1 situations. It should be the same presentation, so without iPad presentation capabilities, I may need to revert back to PPT....what a shame. I don't need editing capabilities on the iPad.
-
-
Hi!! just to let you know, i am a great fan of prezi. Honestly, i prefer to use prezi on ipad on and offline. To edit it on the go and present it to my clients on the go. Projection or without projection. I am in the multi-media industry and trust me, i have to do presentation a lot! From my point of view, i would like to be able to have a full working prezi app working on ipad. I can travel overseas and i hope i can put all my prepared images and videos into my ipad and i edit and share my prezi presentation wherever i can! Things will be more exciting since ipad is not that heavy and i would love to carry it around to present it to other people besides clients. That would be my input, because i cannot speak for other people, but i like prezi for ipad to be able to take any media in my ipad to use it for edit. example - prezi app can open up a window showing media in ipad i could use and i can just drop it into a folder to prepare for the presentation.
Bottomline - it will be very good to have prezi for ipad! make it intuitive !
I know it is not easy but prezi is already that great, if it can make it to ipad, more people with ipad will love it!!!
:) -
-
Definately for client presentations. We use our iPads so frequently we would not use a tool that did not have that functionality. Any idea when this will be released?
-
-
-
Zoli -
Really need to know if Prezi will be available for the iPad. For being a customer-oriented company, it's seemingly hard to get a clear answer. My company needs to make some decisions - your answers are essential.
Thanks! -
-
Step 1. Provide any means whatsoever ASAP to enable a mobile worker to simply present using the iPad.
Step 2. Provide the ability to edit Prezis on iPad. I could never see myself creating a prezi from scratch but I could see myself tweaking an existing Prezi.
Step 3. I think you'll have to move to HTML 5. Eventually. Let's face it. It's on the cards and the more development you do right now around flash has to be recognized as work that you will need to refractor for HTML 5. -
-
So where do we stand with this? Prezi is clearly an app that would be great to use w/ a touch interface. iPad's graphics engine and beautiful screen representation of digital content is a clear match for the iPad. Obviously programming the video out codec to the Prezi app is a must so we can folks away on the big screen.......
Not seeing anything from Prezi reps - what's the story you all?-
I agree it's all very silent. As a business, we can't afford to have multiple formats of our presentations. So for now, until we hear something positive from Prezi we've made the decision to move away from it.
At least with Keynote, we can have a creative presentation that will work in whatever situation we are in.
We will come back to Prezi once this is sorted. I hope for Prezi's sake that a competitor doesn't swoop in with a HTML5 version, especially if it could pull in prezi file and refactor it. -
-
-
-
-
Yeah. This needs to be a done deal. Prezi for ipad, Prezi for ipad. i would both present and create presentations on the ipad.

I’m
confident
Hi Guys, again, thanks for the great support and feedback. I cannot tell you more about this feature than before, and it's not because we don't care about this. Please stay in "touch".-
This is really disappointing feedback after months of a thread where your loyal users are clearly showing they are getting very disenfranchised with the team at Prezi because they 1) are clearly expressing an urgent need and 2) are telling clearly that they will leave you if they can't have this.
What does your comment mean? Why the hell should we stay in touch when you won't give us anything in return? I for one feel a bit used here. What does your status of "I'm confident" mean exactly?
Let's make this simple. If you are using stealth tactics and quietly developing a product to surprise the market with then you sure know how to f*ck off your loyal user base. If on the other hand you are not going to do anything with a version that works on iPad then you should be worried. No doubt another start up is very aware of this thread and working hard on a solution. -

As recently as this summer, I used Prezi for all internal and external presentations. However, half of my department have iPads now, and the other half will get them at the beginning of the next fiscal year, so we have discontinued use of Prezi altogether. It's a shame.
-
-
I have an organization dedicated to bringing technology like mobile devices to the classroom. If Prezi could be created and presented on an iPad it would have a tremendous impact on the education system. Especially for the schools adopting a 1:1 mobile device program. I for one, can not wait to use prezi on my iPad! I believe Prezi is the future of presentations and will play a huge role in the classroom.
-
-
Prezi is very needed on Ipad, we are an advertising agency and while we are transitioning to Ipads for presentations, we feel left out by the prezi.
-
-
It would be great if the ipad app had support for a stylus (e.g. the pogosketch)
Then you could ad note's while presenting. Another amazing feature would be a record function. This way students can view the prezi a second time online including the audio and added notes.
I think it would be a killer educational tool. -
-
I concur with the above three posts and had a further thought on Prezi for iPad this week. If Prezi was available for iPad it could be used as a NotePad/brainstorming application that could then be arranged and formatted for presentation in the Prezi style. With the operating window of the ipad screen allowing free thought, drawing, import of pictures and text that could then be fine-tuned to presentation style it would revolutionize these two genres(traditional Notepad app and Presentation app) in a whole new way by combining their functionality! What do you think?
-
Totally agree Richard. I use iThoughts (mindmapping app) and neu.notes (for note taking) on my iPad and love it. I use them all the time to brainstorm and outline presentations and speeches. It would be awesome to be able to import from these types of apps (as well as evernote) to bring together a Prezi. But so far it's only a dream.
Hopefully some other developer comes up with an alternative to Prezi since these guys are taking way too long to even take a stance. -
-
-
-
-
Zoli, you said "At Prezi we prefer to say that portable multi touch devices are cool, because the iPad is surely just the early bird in the market."
Yes, something else might come along but iPad dominates the market and will probably continue for a while.
If you were hoping that something else would dominate so you would not have to make a significant investment in retooling Prezi, think again. So far nothing compares to the iPad as a presentation tool. Samgung's tablet is the only serious competition to the iPad, but it is too small for presentations (unless you hook it to a projector but then you might as well use a laptop).
You guys are running the risk of being replaced and losing out on a huge market opportunity. I'm surprised no one has filled the void...but it may surprise us all. -
-
agreed with recent feedback. i've got a major initiative launching in Jan, and was planning to use prezi to introduce people to it, but i'm about to bail on my prezi.
if i don't know where you are going with iPAD, which is my meeting tool now, i can't keep using the platform, hoping you'll catch up with me some day.
if we don't get a clear signal, i'm gone from prezi, and annoyed at how much time and energy i've put in so far.-
I agree. Me too
-

I agree. Me too

Ipad and Prezi are both amazing presentation tools. Developing a way for people to use them together is NOT optional.
-
-
Got introduced to prezi recently and was completely WOW'd. Was completely turned 180 degrees after reading these posts. Customer feedback (and lack of response to it) is telling of the org. No iPad player even? I'd absolutely edit and present on the iPad.
Now I'm hunting for the 'next' player in this space -- bummer. Prezi almost had the next killer app for business productivity on the iPad.-
Is Prezi loosing the bubble on this opportunity?

I was so bummed when I looked in the app store for Prezi. I use it all the time in my classroom and think it is far superior to Keynote and other similar products simply because it keeps my students' attention!
I just got an iPad to use with teaching, and this is a big hole now. When can we hope to see this app available?
For those of you also on this channel, how can I still use Prezi with a projector from my iPad? -
-
Hey everyone .. Prezi seem to be fairly crap at communication. Check this out: http://disruptivecode.com/news/migrat...
Here's a Prezi talking about it too: http://prezi.com/9syzntcug6fe/prezidi...
So yes, they're working on making it available in HTML5. Which means they'll at least PLAY on an iPad.
(Seriously, why do we have to find these things ourselves?) -
-
I'm thinking of getting a set of ipads for my high school chemistry class. Prezi is the only thing I want to use for educational collaboration. This has to happen! The world needs Prezi on the iPad!
-
-
I would use it right now to make a presentation to my friend, but unfortunately it doesn't work on iPad....
-
-
I would love to use it at the next conference on sustainable development in architecture & construction. I have great new ideas that I would like to showcase to individual people, and carrying the iPad would be a great way to do that.
-
-
get this working on IPad ASAP please, prezi-people!!! make yourself irreplacable now!

Thanks for wonderful application. I tried to use Prezi file on my iPad, but unfortunately it did not work and needs adobe flash player but I remember that Prezi told that it don't want any flash, too. What shall I do? is it possible that I use it on iPad or any Mac devices?

Not really sure how I feel about the release of Prezi for iPad. I am of course overjoyed that we now have it, but at the same time I feel misled and somewhat abused by Prezi as a company. Prezi asked the question and then kept us all in the dark and P*ssed a lot of people off. This is no way to treet your customers.
Next time you want to *use* your customers about how they would use a new product/feature *don't* then go quiet on the progress of that feature.
I think a public heart-felt apology to your loyal user base is in order.- view 5 more comments

Put it this way. On a day to day basis I experience the interaction between many companies and their customers. This has definitely been one of the worst.
You've only got to read the thread above to see how customers felt. There was almost zero interaction between the prezi team and their loyal customers over a topic that they instigated themselves - simple. -
-
Yes, well I can see the earliest complaints/demands were "Do it and do it now" followed by "Why isn't this done yet?" I agree completely that Prezi would have done themselves a major favor by giving regular updates (rather than taking the CIA approach of non-disclosure. I do not at all understand why they have adopted a say-nothing strategy and agree with you that they should say "something" to appease the masses. That said, I'm not going to discount that they do listen, because they do.

Communication is hard. Guys, us, your devoted users (I've got the t-shirt! I wear it when I give workshops!) are happy to step in and help out with that. If you want to set up a little community for us and give us the scoop, speaking for myself, we'd be happy to push out key information for you. ;)
Trying out the app! It's very cool! :D -
-
We're thrilled about the users who are happy to see a feature they have requested! It takes time to develop new features, so we thank you for your patience.
-
-
Kudos to Prezi for bringing the iPad app to the app store!!!
-
-
Unfortunely, I wouldn't... but if it were for Blackberry, now there's another story... In you email Add you start with "Many of you have told us that you want to share your ideas on a lightweight touchscreen... ". Well BB is also a "lightweight touchscreen" device. Will the app work on it? If so, how can i get it?
-
-
Can't you just use prezi via the web on a blackberry? Don't they support flash?
-
-
Unfortunately no. The Torch does not and may not support Flash. RIM is focusing on the Playbook to boost this capability. This leaves us Torch users in the cold...
-
-
I think that this is something to be excited about but, does the prezi app work just as well on the itouch as the ipad ?
-
-
Prezi for Ipad is a good step forward, though I miss support for embedded youtube video (no flash but html5).
-
-
I am very excited about Prezi on the iPad and have had the chance to play with it for the last 15 minutes. I am sure I am unaware of every feature in this release however so far downloading the Prezi from online and not having it in a local library of sorts is inhibiting. Many of my Prezi's are very large and at conventions I like to flip back and forth between two or three. It would be nice if I could save them to the iPad for viewing purposes and not need an online connection. iPads are wonderful for travel but the internet isn't always accessible. Am I missing something?
-
No I don't think your missing anything, it does seem that Prezzi has to download every single time. This is quite a strange and unexpected behaviour. This will really burn bandwidth. Or worst, lack of internet access would mean that you can't use it.
-
-
-
-
-
I'll use it for my training sessions when Prezi for iPad gets good enough (no need to carry my laptop on all travels anymore). I'll download my presentations for offline use and attach my VGA adaptor so I can use a projector. I was dreaming about this! Please keep working on it until it's usable! :)))
-
-
I do like the app, but the question that I have is can I use my apple tv with it. As a teacher I have my projector hooked up to an apple tv receiver, if the prezi app worked with airplay, then I could walk around my room and by the students and I could be controlling the presentation. That would be great!!!!!
-
-
How about Android version? i don't have iPhone or iPad .....
-
-
-
Doesn't Android offer Flash support? So you should be able to use Prezi normally.

Hello. that's very good. So when could I use prezzi in my Samsum Galaxy mobile phone?
Let me know: susana.martin@semantix.com -

Gee that's a lot of talking about prezi I wish i could use it...on the ipad and the phone
-
Um, as of a couple days ago, you can. Check the app store.

will it be able to project on the screen, if not, it would be very very limited, please say yes!
-
I just tried it last night, using a composite cable I purchased from the Apple Store. Prezi would not project on the screen. :o( If there's a way, please let us know!

Prezi on the iPad is great, but it won't project on the screen when using Apple's composite cables. I would love to carry this around to project prezi's in meetings. Any plans to make this functional... soon?

It is imperative that prezis can be shown on external screens - this is a feature that should be in place immediately!

Hi prezi people! Thank u wonderful program. I would like to ask, if u have any plans make it possible to use Apple TV with Prezi? That would increase possibilities use presentation program power to ten.
-
-
Prezi on ipad, working with composite video out, and iphone as a remote. ALL I'M asking - than I buy licence. Have my word on that:)
-
-
-
-
I'd like to be able to put a URL or other weblink on Prezi as well.
and what about making moore possible in themes??? -
-
I agree with all of you on the fact that this would be great on a tablet (ie. Ipad) but I don`t think they should stop there. I could really use this on my phone (apple, windows, android). It would be a little harder to use of course but for those of us who have no intention of getting a tablet, a mobile version would be neat.
-
-
I am a teacher, and I absolutely love Prezi, its a wonderful tool for educators. I was considering getting an iPad because I thought of how much easier it would be for me to work anywhere with an iPad on new presentations but no editor??? Whats the point? I can more easily present the material on the school computer hooked up to the overhead. Prezi's control system seems built for multitouch iPad style controls. Until theres an editor for iPad I don’t see any use for Prezi on iPad :/
-
-
Let me create in the Prezi IPad app, output to VGa and show YouTube videos (least important), and I can go on the road with my IPad and leave the other computers at home. And, I would hug you! (lol)
-
-
A combination of my iPad2 and Prezi would immediately be my #1 way to create a presentation. Prezi really lends itself to tablets. So please please please work on a way to enable creation on a tablet.... Particularly an iPad.
-
-
I just bought the Ipad 2, in part because I teach at a university and wanted something smaller with which to work on the web when I'm traveling, etc. Unfortunately today i discovered the the Prezi presentations I created with video sequences don't appear in the IPAD viewer, nor can I edit my presentation....
Any chance it will happen anytime soon, or should I trade my IPAD for a smaller notebook computer--actually maybe my questions should be what is the minimum system requirement for editing prezi's and showing them with a notebook. -
-
Ipad and prezi
Some of the things i love with Prezi are
ability to be interactive with audiences
ease of adding information
ease of changing pathways as new ideas/points are being discussed or thought about.
With Ipad (and androids) being about speed, flexibility and portability I can't see why you'd limit the Prezi experience by; not having the ability to download Prezis to the ipad rather than having to be online, and not being able to edit offline. Please Please keep working on this.
When you developed Prezi, you guys gave us 'presenters' a way of sharing information that was (& for some still is) a game changer. Ipads' (and androids) are changing the game again, and being able to 'Prezi on the move' without lugging a laptop, will become increasingly beneficial
Cheers Dougal -

besides the whole fixing the PDF viewing issue on the iPad my second suggestion would be to have an option (prior to a presentation) to choose whether to have the "forward" or "backward" arrows at the (current) bottom or (newly suggested) TOP of the iPad screen.
I have found that when I'm presenting "upside down" I would rather have the arrows UP AT THE TOP so that my hands wouldn't get in the way of what I'm trying to present. -
-
Would love to have it on the go for a mobile device. I want to create an inspiration tree i can use anywhere, anytime for creative thought and expression of ideas.

IPad (tablets) seem sooo natural for creating prezi's on the go. Imagine a couple of people sitting round a table capturing ideas and simultaneously creating a prezi of them to show others. A great opportunity for Prezi to lead the way in convivial technology for story telling and sharing concepts and ideas!

Since the ipad 2 includes vga output, we are no longer pursuing that as a development project.

Ok, I bought an iPAD 2 and burried both ipad (the original one) and my old netbook.
So, what about a prezi editor for ipad2? Is that a "development project" for you folks, or a distant goal? -

Hi Gustavo, thanks for your interest - we do not comment on future features/releases. When we have updates, we post them here and on our blog, fb, twitter immediately.

I make Prezi's for my classes and I have to refer to many documents. It would be easier to make them on my IPad. I'd pay for such an app gladly.
