Prezi for Android
Prezi really works so well and can be used in multiple ways. It would be even more powerful, if there was a chance to take the downloaded Prezis mobile and show it to your friends / business partners on mobile devices (Android). Is there a plan to develop such a tool?

3Hi Jurie and Co.,
This will probably disappoint you but we have a policy of not commenting what we are working on that I intend to keep. (sorry that Zoli broke this rule on the top of this thread, we all do misstakes.)
Why?
Firstly, it is often impossible to know the quality of a solution until it is ready. Our iPad app was the 3rd attempt at making it good. The first two could not handle the zooming nature of Prezi only the 3rd could. Even so, we still had to work hard to fix unexpected memory leaks in the iPad after the launch.
Secondly, technical development is very hard to predict. Infinite amount of literature is spent on describing how companies can/should organize their product development but the truth is that no company can reliably predict projects that usually last several months.
So rather then speculating on possible future events we focus on the good news upon releasing a new feature.
This creates dilemma: we like to staying in touch with our community at the same time as you get frustrated when we don't comment on future developments. On the other hand, making promises that we could not keep (regardless of if it is our or other technologies fault) would only get you more disappointed.
This is the reason behind the policy.
Finally let me tell you about our guiding goal. Everyone at Prezi is working to help people share ideas. We also believe that idea sharing is not limited to particular technologies or platforms. Whether we're working on Android at the moment or not I cannot comment, but let me assure you we're working very hard to deliver new features and there are more coming your way! -

3Hi, yes, we have plans to go mobile. I cannot tell you any closer details about this though.

Hmmm...I may be over-thinking this issue, but: Since Prezi is Flash-based, and embedded prezis are driven by Flash, and since Flash will run on almost everything except my iPhone, shouldn't a Droid user be able to access a web page with an embedded prezi and then demonstrate the prezi to clients? This solution seems too simple to work. Perhaps a Droidite could check this and let the rest of us know.
Just another user... -

relliott - I'm running Froyo on my android-phone and it won't work. :-(

I have a Galaxy Tab and was able to access Prezis through the stock Android browser (couldn't get it to work with other browsers). I was able to login and view/edit my own as well. It was VERY choppy - and not very usable without proper mouse clicks and keyboard shortcuts, but I could access it.
I would LOVE an Android app for Prezi - especially since the Galaxy Tab has video out. I could easily hook up to a projector and take my shows on the road with the tablet! -
-
Would it be possible for someone affiliated with Prezi to shine some light on the chances of this happening anytime soon?
-
-
just got an email about Prezi on iPad. How about launching it on Android Phone?
-
-
I too would LOVE the Android functionality. Prezi works on my GalaxyTab via my Dolphin HD browser but (as above) this is choppy and reliant on internet access. A standalone app would be wonderful!!!
-
-
I was able, altough not with great result, to view a Prezi on my HTC Desire HD. An app would be a better solution.
-
-
I would also really like to see this done, especially with the release of honeycomb. I have a Motorola xoom and I use it enstead of a laptop not in addition to, so a full featured android app would be very much appreciated.

An app is needed to run prezi's offline when presenting where there is no network connection.
-
-
No app required to run offline on a PC - just a copy of Flash V10 or above.
-
-
On a Windows PC, correct - this method does not work on an Android device.

Wow, one year and still no answer from Prezi regarding a timetable for an Android-version.
C'mon guys... Not everyone thinks of Apple as the greatest of all companies and marketshares show the future lies in Android.
So: WHEN IS AN ANDROID VERSION PLANNED???- view 4 more comments

Katrin,
your response is understandable as a direct answer to the timetable/roadmap-question.
Of course you're not allowed to talk about that and all, that's what everybody can and should expect.
But on the other hand it would be great to have a little acknowledgement if you are even planning to someday release something for Android.
To "sound the drums" is a little hard if there's not a shred of evidence that it's going to happen. Little detail here: it's not about "when", it's about "if".
Once there's even a small acknowledgement from the side of Prezi the drumming is going to happen by itself.
The only thing I know of is this little forum here.
Thanks for your work! -

Thanks for your consideration. Unfortunately I can't say yes or no either about the if-question. Maybe it's best if you contact one of the Heads directly: http://prezi.com/about/

Realising that Prezi cant give us any idea if they are working on it. May I just add my plea to the discussion. Please would you make us a android app!
-
-
Completely agree on the "have an android app". That would be a killer feature, especially given the fact that a lot of android devices have a USB host port and a HDMI out it means I can give my presentations with only the pad and a connector cable to a beamer. So, you, this would be an awesome addition!
Thanks

I recently tried Sozi out (http://sozi.baierouge.fr/wiki/sozi) - it's a way of developing Prezi like presentations in Inkscape that can be used in any SVG capable browser (Firefox, Chrome, etc). It lacks is the ability to embed video and is not as intuitive or easy to use as Prezi.
Can someone confirm if Android 3.0 (honeycomb) browser renders SVG? Specifically the one embedded here: http://sozi.baierouge.fr/wiki/en:welcome
As more Open Source, free, alternatives become available, Prezi will become irrelevant. Alternatively if Prezi could output an SVG that can be viewed in any compatible browser.... -

I mailed prezi's ceo about this, lets see if we can get feedback from him.

Thank you. We accept your policy as is and look forward to the "new features". ;-)
We love your product and believe that it is one of the most powerfull ways to share ideas. Prezi is to presentations what colour screens were to computers when they first came out. -
-
Hope the new features and the android app come out soon. I also hope the iphone/ipod touch app will come out soon.

I'd just like to throw my voice in the chorus: An Android Prezi app would be fantastic!
-
-
I'm evaluating "2.0" presentations using andriod tablets for my company. Most of our presentations are made offline. It would be nice to standardize on prezi if it has offline android capability.
-
-
To be honest, I will only upgrade if the Android feature is developed... Until then... it's back to PPT I guess...
-
-
same here... I don't carry my EEEPC anymore.. I now have a GalaxyTab... so I'll be sticking to PPT until some android app comes along...
This is a real deal breaker, hope they come up with something soon. -

Dizzy also looks like a promising alternative.... http://dizzy.metafnord.org/

I'm intrigued, but unfortunately, their site isn't loading on the computer that I'm using...
However, I'm sure that, while not made public, Prezi has every intention of being the best that they can possibly be. Based on the new features rolled out over the past year, they are on the fast track to staying the next big thing. -

I used Teamwork mobile app to manipulate my Prezi. Worked just fine! ;-) (need my laptop computer, but I just wanted to show off!!!)
Hope this helps somebody -

can you not play your downloaded prezi flv file through some sort of video player on android?
I'm looking to buy a tablet and would love to show prezis on it, but don't want to get an iPad due to their flash aversion.- view 1 more comment

as I said before, it worked fine with teamwork, but had to use my pc :(
-
-
my bionic can play prezis...

Using Prezi on my Android app with a live connection is doable, but would love an app. that allowed Prezi files to be downloaded to my Galaxy Tab for viewing.
