I have a traditional PowerPoint that I'd like to add some flare too. In fact what I would like to do is have my Prezi presentation act as a presentation within a presentation. Problem is, unlike video files and even native flash files, there seems to be no way to embed Prezi into PPT. If you download your presentation locally, you get an .exe file, which is problematic. If you link to the website, it's not "ready to go" you have to load it first. So having a Prezi plug-in or finding a way to make it embeddable as an object would be nice. Also like a video/flash, it would be best if the Prezi presentation did not have to open in another window.
Also I don't see a way to do the reverse of this, i.e. embed a PPT into Prezi.

I would like to explain my reasons for wanting this.
I have created a presentation in Prezi, but it is going to be given as a 5 minute talk alongside 3 other people who are presenting. The organisers would like to integrate everyone's slides into a single PPT, so that the switching time between presentations could be reduced.
With an easier way to link to my prezi, I could embed a link in a PPT slide, give that to the organisers to put into the flow, and then follow that link to start my presentation (offline).
It would help me adopt this, and to convince others that it is usable and portable. -
Here's my bottom line: Prezi doesn't do everything I need it to. My company meets with our clients in what can sometimes be four-hour sessions. And my staff regularly speaks at conferences worldwide. Our work requires the use of Keynote and/or PPT.
While we'd love to use Prezi for part of our presentations, it's just not practical to use for everything. I'm sure that you must understand that. We'd like to be able to use Prezi for an intro discussion on trends, for example, before we get to all the requisite charts and graphs and other files. In addition, Prezi won't work with much of the additional software that's required of our presentations (webinar tools, recording tools, etc).
We'd love to be able to use Prezi in short spurts for part of our presentations, and I'd imagine that others feel the same way. If it can't be exported and used inside of Keynote or PPT, or if it can't be made into a plugin for both Keynote and PPT, I'm afraid we're not going to be able to use it. That's a shame, because you'll miss out on a very large potential enterprise audience who would've gladly paid for the service. -
I would like to suggest that the export of a packaged swf be looked into again. My problem with .exe is that a lot of draconian network systems do not allow unrecognised exes to be run, and so I could not run my prezi everywhere. A swf can, however, be embedded in a powerpoint amongst other things, and is generally a bit more versatile than the .exe. I recognise that you mentioned a while ago that there were issues with security, which may present a significant obstacle. Nonetheless, I feel exploring this avenue would be worthwhile, if only due to the versatility of a raw .swf - it could be run on many more operating systems, including some mobile devices.

Simple, just copy embed code, click on the Insert tab in the ribbon, choose Video from Web, and paste the code. Works perfectly.

Kiri Fitzpatrick February 27, 2013 01:10This doesn't work. PowerPoint is saying: Powerpoint cannot insert a video from this embed code. Verify that the embed code is correct, and then try again.EditDeleteRemove

2We've update the PowerPoint add-in for embedding offline/download prezi's in PowerPoint. Also online too. Just incase you need to pimp up poor old powerpont :)

Ps..when embedding online and offline Prezi's using this method once the prezi has loaded and is ready to play if you leave and return to that slide the Prezi does not have toi wait to reload. -

Is there a possibility to embed a prezi into powerpoint for Mac 2011?
-
-

Simply not possible for native PowerPoint Mac 2011. The only approach that works on a mac using the Slidedynamic add-in or manually following the YouTube tutorial is to use a windows partition. I use Parallels Desktop in Coherence mode. Looks and works just peachy

Is it possible to somehow run SlideDynamic (stand alone?) on a computer without installing it?
I will be presenting at a university, where of course users cannot install things!
Thanks -

No sorry it can't work without the add-in are you trying to use it just to embed a prezi? thats possible although a little bit of a fiddle. let me know and i'll try and advise

Hi "fix all problems" slidedynamic,
very interesting to follow this topic. Congratulations first, well done!
I have the same question nedjcarter has. I have to make a PPT and I want it within a Prezi. All runs brilliant on my PC. But I have to send it to our headquarter, where my slides (including Prezi, hopefully) get copied to the main PPT.I think it would be no problem to copy all folders to the Main-PP-Folder, but I am sure it is not allowed to instaall the add in.
Do you have any idea, to rum PPT with prezi slides on a Computer without your add in? -

Hi @stephen :)) "fix all problems" you're our new best friend...now we feel special and worthwhile ok..to business
Right you said "have to make a PPT and I want it within a Prezi" so would you like your PPT in Prezi or Prezi displayed in a ppt slide.. i think its the latter. So if its the latter then you can manually embed prezi in the powerpoint using our youtube tutorial or you can use our add-in...even the demo version does this..so its free. Then you simply copy that slide and the associated folders file (zip'um up) remove the .exe email will not let that be emailed..then send to the bods at HQ. they can insert the slide into PPT and as long as the folders etc are in the same directory you should be good. The only thing to watch is if prezi stalls on the Z when they try and play it. If this happens they just need to add the folder to their flash trusted folders. If you dont know how to do that there is a vid on our yt channels. OR whoever at HQ can just install our add-in and then uninstall that sorts everything out. again you dont need to buy it to fix this.
Good luck- view 6 more comments

Glad it works...if you use the add-in you can do this. This offerers tight integration between an embedded prezi and Powerpoint

I know this is from a while back but if anyone reads the thread and is interested we've finally added the embedding of multiple Prezi into Powerpoint. This adds to the previous Version of the SlideDynamic PowerPoint Add-in

Try highlighting a word in PPT, then under Insert tab click on the Action icon. Choose Run Program option then browse for the downloaded Prezi (.exe file).

The SlideDynamic does not work with the portable prezis created by the new version of the prezi desktop.
The organization of files/folders in the compressed archive does not match what SlideDynamic expect, and therefore it keeps on complaining "copy prezi to the current folder" when I attempt to add offline prezi.
How Do I embed the new offline prezis?
BTW, does this embedding work on other computers? i.e. the ones without SlideDynamic installation? [off course I understand that prezi files should be copied together with the .pptx] -
