Please allow autosave frequency adjustment!
Autosaving while working with large Prezis is a real nuisance. Frequent autosave appears to be mandatory for Prezi online AND Prezi desktop. Please work to develop an update that allows for adjustment of the autosave timing. This would be VERY MUCH appreciated.

Hi Prezi folk
I agree, autosave is preventing the efficient use of this fantastic software, and is actually proving now more time consuming than just a typical (read 'boring') powerpoint presentation. Creativity wise there is no rival to Prezi, however when using this software in a work environment where time is money, i am really struggling to justify spending 25% of my time waiting and cursing at my screen.
PLEASE can you reduce the frequency of autosave??!!
I am at my wits end - i HATE powerpoint but if it means i get the job done in far less time, then sadly thats the way to go. For such awesome software, this is a huge hurdle in its appeal and use.
Please consider this idea - just looking through the forums this is a major issue for a lot of users.
Thanks

Hi Jeff Tiddy, not sure if this will change soon - however I will put it on the User request list as a wanted item.
cheers
John

Prezi seems to autosave my presentation every 3-5 minutes. Since it is a sizeable presentation, it takes about 1-2 minutes to save...so my actual working up time is not very efficient. Can I change the autosave to something less frequent? How?

How do I change the autosave frequency?. -

I am having the same problem. For large presentation the auto saving feature take a lot of time. In my case every time I do a change, the auto-saving take 1-2 minutes.

I have the feeling my prezi is even autosaving every minute or two! This is far too often for me since I do regular manual backups on my own (when reaching a milestone during the creation of a prezi).
Please, please allow manual adjustment of this frequency! -

I agree with the above! I'm considering not using Prezi anymore, since it's almost impossible to work with bigger presentations. And often during Autosave, flash player "crashes". It starts working again, no data lost, but it is still frustrating. It is something you should really consider, it's on the users own risk to set the autosave less frequent. But i think it is necessary for me to continue using Prezi for my area of work (Construction) where i need to add A0 drawings and hi-res renderings.

It's like it's autosaving every step I make and forcing me to wait 15 seconds between motions. It really prevents me from getting into a work groove. Needs to be fixed before I will move away from PP.

I agree!!! I pay for using Prezi and love the program, it's just SO terribly sad that it autosaves everytime I make an adjustment - I lose SO much time!!! It simply takes too long - from thought to action - my creativity is lost and I'm late with projects!!!
Change it - PLEASE!!! -

Oh my God!! It's not just me!!!
Please reply to this group with a time range on when you will address this.
This is a serious issue. -

I also find this autosaving frequency very annoying. I imported some powerpoint slides in my presentation, made a wrong move and wham my entire presentation was in dissarray. Ok... click undo (didn't work) click again (not working). I can't retrieve a previous version, because autosave had already overwritten the point before I imported the powerpoint slides. It took 1hour to fix my presentation. While you are add it. It would be nice if there was a user savepoint and an autosave point.

As heartening as it is to learn I am not alone with HATING the frequency and inefficiency of autosave, it is disappointing to see the lack of response or caring exhibited by Prezi. Surely there has to be some kind of code that could at least let a user finish a specific task before autosaving (or a way to let the user control the frequency, based on his or her own risk threshold). At a minimum, it would be nice for someone knowledgeable to explain why it is somehow HAS to be set up the cockamamie way that it is.

I haven't used prezi for a while now. It is a bit frustrating to work with and in my field people diddn't really like the presentations I gave. (Of course this could be down to my lack of knowledge etc.) I like the whole concept of prezi, but if you spent more time on a prezi presentation then on a powerpoint presentation, and it's frustrating to work with and people diddn't like it that much better then a good slideshow. I am moving back to powerpoint.

all of us need faster responses who can work fast thinking fast. Please switch the gearbox into 2.
Desktop prezi is not nessery to save so often. or do that faster.
What if save only the changed elements. -

Any movement on this issue yet? It hasn't gone away; it's still extremely frustrating and forcing me to consider abandoning Prezi. There are lots of great things about Prezi, but it's just a fact of life that I can't possibly justify the excess time I spend sitting around waiting for autosave to get on with it. I'm also less than impressed by Prezi's response to paying customers.

I decided in January to switch all my courses from ppt to prezi...but I think I will go back to ppt if this "autosave" BIG issue is not solved!!

Hi guys, I'm very disappointed this is still an issue. I raised the same issue with First priority support for paying customers last November and Prezi did not acknowledge this as a bug of the system but treated this as a feature request. I was promised the developers would have look into the problem. I also explained in detail that this is not just something desirable but it's a bug to correct so that the workflow with Prezi is acceptable. Removing the autosave features or at least putting an option to change the time between autosaves should be quite an easy job as far as I can understand. I'm less than impress by Prezi support not listening even to paying customers, especially if many voices are requesting the same thing. It's a pity I'm not thinking to renew my subscription once it will expire mainly for this stupid but VERY annoying autosave issue...
