I am happy to introduce prezi print. Convert your prezi to pdf and print! One path step a page. You can now find "Print" next to "Save" in the online editor.

Yes, printing will allow me to use Prezi for corporate presentations as hard-copy handouts and "leave-behinds" are a must. :-)

I'm trying to sell Prezi within my organization and a big issue holding it back is the ability to easily create handouts or pictures of one or more path steps to use in a word document where you talk about it. It could be for your boss to get funding or any number of situations. But this is really needed if prezi are to replace ppt where I work.
The ability to create a screenshot of a step in the patch is not to be forgotten altho the path -> pdf sounds really nice to. -

Is there any way to use the main.swf file generated by prezi, and load it into Flash, then print the whole screen (not the individual slides) to a large format page, and then have a service bureau print it out? If so, then you've got a tremendous road map, strategy blueprint planner application-- not to mention a new customer!
After spending hours with my client to create such a roadmap, I just KNOW he will want it up on his wall.-

Just wondering whether there's been any progress on this. I need the same thing. I see that I can export to what looks like an Adobe Air file in the offline version. If I buy the right version of Adobe Air, can I use that to print my prezi or save it as something that can be printed with Illustrator?

1Though there is no print feature -- there is a big difference in how your presentations come out on Prezi as there is on Powerpoint. On Powerpoint everyone always feels soo compelled to type a million words into a slide. With Prezi it's more natural to use the flow features and the "see ahead" method by placing what text is coming. Mindmapping is not something that you can easily print out for someone to get. I'd suggest rather that you record your whole Prezi with something like Camtasia, create an AVI and come up with a short outline form of your presentation. -

I'd second Jack. If you want to print out your Prezi then you are using it wrong. I use Prezi to tell stories. I then use handouts to provide the background information, but they are not the same as the visuals used to tell the story.- view 1 more comment

Point taken. It isn't "wrong". The point though is that if you're thinking about a presentation in terms of handouts then PowerPoint is probably a faster and better tool to use.

I see what you are getting at Shane. Have you read the book Presentation Zen by Garr Reynolds? That book was a huge eye opener for me and that was even after I discovered Prezi. Garr is a leading expert on presentation design and talks about how most people these days create presentations with bullet after bullet that are text heavy and reasserts what is spoken as opposed to high quality visuals which can complement the spoken words. Just look at some of the best presenters in the world like Steve Jobs. He almost never uses bullet points and his slides are mostly visuals. Prezi does an incredible job for these types of presentations.

Yes, at the moment Powerpoint is a better tool to use if you need handouts, but that's a shame because Prezi is far and away a better tool for making engaging presentations! Why should we have to compromise on one or the other?

The key issue here is that if you put a ton of work into a prezi, your data is LOCKED with no way to get it out. Obviously it works well with vector formats, so you should be able to get your data back out without kludges like screenshots, recordings, etc. It's my data/design, let me get it back out so I can reuse it! -

What you can do is save as, and use again, creating another version, keeping stuff you want to use again. You can copy/paste texts from prezis you have created as well. If you create videos, images, pdfs, swf-s or other media, you need to keep them in a folder, since you cannot export them from the prezi. -

What would be ideal is if the prezi leave-behind was as ground-breaking as the presentation tool. Let's not compare it to power-point notes - instead it should be a physical leave-behind that helps remind people of key points. A screen shot is of course the obvious first step but I hope the last step doesn't look like a power point deck...

I make all my prezi's available as full flash "movies". But I use Prezi in situations such as conferences where the organizers require that their be some sort of hand out.
I don't want to do screen shots, but I would like to be able to export some components such as text and key images for this purpose.
I don't want to have to go back to PPT just to be able to generate these handouts. -

I think that the possibility to print out single pages or the whole path is a must in corporate environments. There is the screenshot workaround, but that's too much work if you need more than a few pages printed...
Many people asked me for print outs (e.g. to put them on the wall of their team room). -

What I ended up doing was manually creating PowerPoint slides for some key spots in my path, namely any text and key graphic elements.
But I hated the fact that I had to do this. It was a manual process to get DATA out of the Prezi.
I couldn't do screen shots because I tend to use Prezis with a dark background and conference organizers hate having to deal with all that extra ink/toner. -

Often, I just want a printout as a simple reminder for myself of how the prezi works. I can keep it with other materials that go with the presentation.
To do this I just put it in 'Show' use IrfanView to make a screen-grab and print that. The quality isn't great and you don't get any small bits, unless you re-do those, but it does work well enough for a reference -

I'm currently preparing a presentation and I want to get through it during the flight. While electronic devices have to switched off during take off and landing, a peace of paper doesn't need. And I just want to use that time to prepare my presentation, too... --> A handout would really help me to prepare... -

What I did is I took specific screenshots of my prezi, using command+shift+4, and then printed those. Instead of 25 pages, it was only 5. -

It would be awesome to export a poster to any print size - great for workshops to then draw on.

My public viewers need to be able to print portions of my prezi while viewing. I have made it Public - Allow Copy and they are unable to print the parts they need. This confuses them. This is a simple function which should be enabled - screen saves are not quite enough since some resolution is sacrificed.

My question is about using prezi in the educational realm. I teach Spanish and I had my students use prezi to make a presentation about them and their families. They had a great time making it, but I have had a horrible time grading it. It's visual and intuitive, but I would like to see all the words, in path order on a sheet of paper so I can give their work a grade. I think this is a neccesary item in the educational world because we are not just receiving a presentation, we have to grade that presentation and it's hard to assess when you are just looking at it online. I can do screen shots or copy and paste into a word document, but it would be nice to have a print to PDF function that prints all the words onto a word document in order of the path. Is that possible?

That assumes that your students are going to be using text. What will you do when they start including video, graphics or audio?
If you'd asked them to create a video about themselves, you could perhaps ask for a transcript (which is always a good idea for accessibility reasons anyway). You could do the same with the Prezi...?

There is a print button in the top right corner - which prints every path step into a separate PDF pages. Not sure if this solves your issue.
These can be imported to word, however, these are images of the prezi steps, so the words will not be editable -

The video issue is a good comment. I can give the overall presentation a grade pretty easily. It's the words that I need all together so I can give them corrections, so they can go back in their prezis to make corrections and have a presentation in Spanish with video and audio and correct grammar in the target language...

Hi Jeff,
Just a thought (from an ex-teacher): how about getting them to draft it in Word/Google Docs etc - so you can then give them all the feedback you need on the words/grammar etc. Then use that draft to create the finished presentation.
It'll be an iterative process at first, while they get the hang of what Prezi can do. But it's the way we would normally work towards a finished product, whether it's an essay, a video or anything in between.

That's a great idea...We could do the edit part of it before they load it into a presentation software. I like that idea. I'll relay it to my collegues who are getting excited about Prezi.

Has anyone else had trouble getting decent prints out of Prezi?
I have equations that I need, so I tried to bring them in as jpg, which is fuzzy.
Converting equations from eps to pdf then import works nicely. No pixellation apparent at all!
However, when dumping a PDF of the whole screen (no prezi path) the view gets very fuzzy and pixellated. Even native prezi text below about 12 pt is very pixellated.
Screen grab + conversion to PDF is not much better.
Any ideas? I would love to use this tool but if I can't get better printing out of it, I may be a bit limited. Am I doing something wrong?- view 1 more comment

Jade, the simplest approach is to put a frame (invisible or otherwise) around the entire presentation and make that point one on your path

Yes I too would like to print a poster sized version of my prezis... and have the text in that PDF as selectable / editable - not just a bit map.
Any chance of this happening?
