Is prezi not just a cooler version of powerpoint?

I love the way new way of making presentations... and the result is stunning. But there is something I just don't understand.... and thought that is was possible in prezi. There is still a linear way of navigation.... and that makes it not really different than powerpoint. I think that it would be awesome to have different paths to take true your prezi. For example your speaking for 200 people and you feel that crowd want's to know more about a specific detail but the path let's you go another point.. this is the time where you take route B and go deeper in the specific point... Your able to this with your mouse but it would be much more handy to just press B and go the other path..
