Installing Prezi Desktop

Hi boycey66, big answer I'm afraid...try this.

This "installer file damaged"-error most likely results from some (overly restrictive) antivirus or firewall software. Please try disabling such software temporarily, adding the file to their white-lists and initiating the install process again from http://prezi.com/desktop/#download.

If that doesn't work, please download the installer directly: http://cdn01.prezi.com/prezi/desktop/... and open it with Adobe AIR and admin rights. There is another temporary one here http://www.skillsloft.co.uk/training/... - right click and make sure you open with Adobe Air (this is an executable file).

If the .air file from the direct link also fails, there is a last-resort, unofficial installer repository at http://www.wuala.com/Katrin-Leinweber.... Those were verified to install correctly, zipped up and password-protected ("prezi"). No other modifications, no alarm on the anti-virus software MS Security Essentials or the built-in MacOSX security mechanisms. Again, please open it with Adobe AIR and admin rights after unzipping.

If this also fails, the problem must be with your local Adobe AIR installation. Please try uninstalling PreziDesktop and Adobe AIR completely along with companion apps like "Adobe Help". Delete the following directories, too (also from Recycle Bin/Trash):

Windows 7, Vista:
C:\Users\__YOUR_USERNAME__\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\AIR\
C:\Users\__YOUR_USERNAME__\AppData\Roaming\com.prezi.PreziDesktop

Windows XP:
C:\Documents and Settings\__YOUR_USERNAME__\ApplicationData\Adobe\AIR\
C:\Documents and Settings\__YOUR_USERNAME__\ApplicationData\com.prezi.PreziDesktop

Mac OSX:
/Users/__YOUR_USERNAME__/Library/Application Support/Adobe/AIR/
/Users/__YOUR_USERNAME__/Library/Application Support/com.prezi.PreziDesktop

Right...I tried all of the above only to find that the downloaded files were only 8Mb instead of 28Mb. Each time I downloaded it the file would be a different size, therefore I concluded that there must be a filtering problem with my proxy server. I decided to download the file by tethering it and voila!! Finally I can work offline wooohoo!!
