Hi, I want to play prezi offline with linux. Is there anyway?

It is a small extention to inkscape (still a bit immature, but more than usable) with many advantages.
1) the output is a simple svg file
2) you can keep your data on your machine
3) the data format is open
4) the software is free (libre)
5) no limitations on contents, colors, ...

you can use WINE to launch prezi.exe from the downloaded ZIP archive, but unfortunately it has only limited support (e.g. full screen did not work for me).

I have the same need. WINE works for me ok in a maximised window, but this is not quite the same as full screen mode, and the application dies when you hit the full screen icon. Given the player's reliance on Flash, which runs ok in linux, I wonder why there is a problem in creating a prezi offline player for linux? Are you working on it?-
WINE is not the solution - a native Linux offline solution is needed.

This is not a bad solution, however I found playing the movie.swf from the MacOS app bundle to be quite buggy under flashplayer. For example, in full screen, you cannot use your keyboard.

The "Prezi" software is indeed impressive on the surface, and it seemed to be something worthwhile training to become proficient at. But one thing totally disqualifies it for professional work, which is what a Prezi expert would need to produce to earn money. That one thing is that you cannot remove the Prezi logo from any presentation you create, not even for the paid, "professional" version. They mention that the "watermark" will be removed from the paid version, and the "watermark" is indeed removed, not the logo, and I think they rely on confusion in the buyer's mind about a watermark and a logo. The watermark goes away, but the logo stays, making it all a moot point. That kind of conduct feels sneaky and sours the relationship at the outset.

I guess consumers doing some "spreading-the-word" for the sellers enables the seller to sell it at a lower price, but they'd do well by charging much more for a logo-less version. I, for one, upon securing my first contract, might be ready to upgrade to the logo-less version knowing that I will be able to pay for it from money soon to come my way from the contract.
*NB Just last week I saw a very similar kind of presentation playing out on a video screen at a local bank--and it was without any logo, so I know such software is out there (whether it's by Prezi or not).

Prezi is indeed an exciting tool, but it would be very hard to convince clients to grant you work if you cannot remove the logo. It would be best just to "roll your own"; i.e. do some quick training to enable you to make your own presentation software based on the "mind-map" model. -

I totally agree.
Not everyone that would love to utilize the great features of prezi.
Can also afford to sponsor it.
By my definition pro prezi isn't professional at all in this way. -

1Ok, Pavol's hack can even work, but hacking or using Wine to do things in Linux are always the last option, and in my opinion they must never be considered as a solution, but just a workaround.

Thanks Stefano - I've just started looking at this and it seems to be a really good, usable alternative. Inkscape is not as simple or easy as Prezi, but certainly more powerful. Best of all Sozi and Inkscape are open source and free!

As I said the tool is a bit immature, but I had the feeling that the developer is very active.
There is only one caveat: svg does not yet implement font embedding, so if you want to have your text rendered correctly you can
a) select all
b) convert object to path
c) save as...
so you keep a distributable version, and your original where you can edit the text. -

Feed it the zip file exported from prezi and it'll give you a bootstrapped trimmed down version of your presentation that is executable on linux. It'll also be vastly smaller as it cuts out the unnecessary windows / mac binaries.-

1Hi, I have not looked at Mike's version yet but I have create a small tool with GUI for that. I called it preziPlayer as it is a prezi player for linux :-)

There is also already an apt (Debian, Ubuntu, Mint) package available for an easy installation. Hope it helps someone here.

Hi, when you look at my comment above, it is a fine offline fullscreen solution too.
Use it this way:
1. Download and install deb from GitHub
2. Start Preziplayer from Menu Graphics
3. Select your prezi presentation zip
4. Proceed with Option "Browser"
5. e.g. when using Firefox:
6. Press "F11" for Fullscreen or use Option "Fullscreen" from Menu "View" (sometimes F11 is not working)
7. Be happy and have a fullscreen presentation

Just one note: When you launch you browser without having an internet / network connection, the browser will tell you that the page is not available. This is not correct, but you have to deselect the "offline mode" from menu "File" before going to fullscreen.
Maybe its a good hint, it took myself a bit of time before I got this :-) -
