Hi Everybody
My name is Lior, I'm a developer at Prezi.com. We are very sorry but for a technical reason we haven't received a notification about this thread for a long time. I will investigate the problem and get back to you with my findings/fix/more questions. Please stay tuned and I'd appreciate any info you can give me about this bug.
Thanks
Lior

Hi!
I would need some more information to be able to help you.
When do the frames appear?
Is it happening while you are adding a path? There is a new bubble with a camera symbol "capture view" on the path menu that adds a frame from the view. Can you have hit that by mistake?
If not, have you maybe missed to change mode after you have added a frame?

hi!
thanks for replying so fast. it actually happens in the writing mode, when I do something completely different than applying frames or paths.
But now I reopened my prezi and I have the impression that it does not happen any more... hope it stays that way.
What should I do if it happens again?
Thanks for your support! -
-
Good that it doesn't seem to happen any more.
I haven't met this problem before so I can't really tell what you should do. But if it would happen again you can give us the url of the prezi and tell which frames you haven't added actively and we can have a look at it. It is useful for us if you try to notice exactly what you are doing when it happens. -

I am getting the same problem! Rogue frames just start appearing all over my prezi - usually bottom right of screen. I am doing nothing out of the ordinary, and definitely nothing to do with frames. Just uploaded a video though which is not something I have done before - maybe related to this?

Hi Darren,
sorry for the inconvenience, we are trying to track down this problem. Can you tell me if stray frames appear even after you have reloaded your prezi? If yes, please send me its URL, I will take a look at it.
Best,

I'm having this issue too. http://prezi.com/r4asxlohvij1/edit/#51
It happens when I'm in show mode, and I go to move my cursor to the bottom right of the screen to click play buttons.
I'm on a Mac, using firefox. -

This is happening to me too. I'm on a Mac. In Safari. and the frames are appearing in the bottom left of my Prezi when I'm in Edit/Writing mode. Happens when I mouse across the canvas.

Hi,
sorry for not replying so far. We have found out that this is caused if you release or just move the mouse outside of the canvas (the part of the screen where you can edit). We will fix this problem soon. Thanks for your patience. -

I am new and have also found this issue and have fixed it as well. The secret is that when your frame is next to an image (close by) or within an image, the issue happens about 40% of the time. This is fixed by re-sizing the entire frame experiencing the issue. I have resized it smaller and that corrects the problem. If not the other thing (if within an image) is to delete the image that the frame is on/within and re-add the image back on and then send it to back again to make your frame come to the top again.

Hi,
thanks for the tip. I think though that your problem was about layering frames and images, putting them in front of each other, while others have just randomly appearing frames. -

Frames that I did not create keep appearing after editing my Prezi, then zooming out. The extra frames appear in the lower right corner when I zoom out.

I've seen this problem quite often for a while, then it seemed to be gone but now there I'm working on a prezi and it's quite bad. Plus, the particular prezi also has the "sizing error" (can't make elements as small as I need them, except when selecting two or more at a time). Can I do anything to stop it? It's really disturbing...
Additional info: The foundation of this prezi is an old one. As you indicated the frames only appear, when I leave the canvas - which of course is inevitable.-
Hi, try to size up all of your objects in the prezi. The object you cannot make smaller is probably too small, to shrink it more. But this should help

This is also happening to me too. Every time I scroll off the canvas a frame appears in the middle of the right side of the canvas. Reopened my presentation and the problem seems to be gone.

I am having this problem with Prezi Desktop, I have 22 days left of my trial before upgrading to pro. I really like this platform and until this problem popped up I was certain to purchase... Please fix this.
Im on a mac... 10.6.3 -

Also having this problem with prezi desktop. A restart (of prezi) seems to solve the problem.

Me too :(
I was going along fine for ages online - but when I downloaded desktop it started. It's quite bad and always appears in the lower left. Though it happens all the time, saving always triggers it for me. It has even started happening in Show mode
Please please please fix this. -

for me also bottom right big frames appear after goiing to show mode in desktop version

"for me also bottom right big frames appear after goiing to show mode in desktop version "
Same here... lower right corner, the frames appear after exiting show mode. -

ok, this is just ridiculous; I'm sitting here looking at the screen, and frames are just popping up all by themselves in the lower right corner. I've been deleting frames all afternoon; what is going on????????????????

Hi Everyone,
I used Prezi pretty extensively and found this problem quite often. I did find a workaround though and a cause of the Frames/Color differences.
Here are my findings:
Terms-
GRID: The farthest zoom level possible. This is the starting point when making a Prezi.
TILE: A single block space as seen at Grid level.
FRAME: A frame used as a container of text and images. They create a border that can use different styles or are transparent.
Problem:
A frame within the Prezi show will randomly show spikes, blocks, slashes and other graphical errors. Also, the graphic errors may or may not be of a different color. At times you may not get any graphic errors, but the background color may be slightly different than other frames in the presentation.
Cause:
Images from nearby text or pictures on the grid within 2-4 "tiles" away are clashing. Other cause is if you have a background image and place a frame on it with other images/text on top of it. In this instance the background image may "bleed-through" into the frame causing tears or different background color.
Workaround:
Move the frame that is affected to a further area from nearby frames on the grid. If this is not possible because it will take away from the effect you're trying to achieve, make the affected frame smaller to increase the visible distance on the grid from nearby frames affecting the frame experiencing the problem. You can further increase "distance" by making surrounding frames smaller as well.
I have also seen where distancing the frame doesn't fix the issue or only partly fixes it. In this case, you'll need to rotate the affected frame on a different angle. Yes, it may take away from a desired effect, but when you zoom in on your frame, it auto-centres it anyway, so it's not too big a deal.
Rotating the frame usually fixes graphical errors, but not always background discoloration/hue errors. -
-
One more thing. Once you get rid of the frames causing problems, SAVE the presentation. The frames will come back if you do further work, so if possible, do all you need to do, THEN fix the frame issues you have. The issue comes back randomly if you make further changes. You won't know which frames are affected, so have a look at every frame once you're all done. And yes, fixing one frame may break another. It's a long process, so that's why you fix it after you're all done.

This is not quite the same problem: I've saved a presentation after adding a path. When opening it again later it does not seem possible to delete the path. Is that how it works? Or can I get rid of the path (all steps) in any way?

Hi, thank you for looking into this! Here is the url: http://prezi.com/sjdxrc8jzsev/edit/#2...
I've tried to follow your advise (that I also found on the prezi pages), but I did not succeed...

Hi Camilla
I looked at your prezi and I think i see the problem. You do not have a path at all in your prezi, you do have many many Invisible Frames (the dotted frames) and these are not path steps. I recommend you to use the Invisible Frames only when needed because they tend to be heavy on the computer. In order to make a path, you need to go to the Path tool in the bubble menu, and then click with you mouse on each object you want the path to bring you too.
I recommend that you try first with 2 or 3 texts/frames to see how it works, and if you have any more questions, please ask.
I again recommend to remove the invisible frames and use them only when needed.

Hi Kaitlyn
Do you still have this problem after you reload the page?
Lior-
No it seems to be okay at the moment. I am working on the Desktop version of Prezi though.

I get the extra frames when I start adding a path. When I've finished the path I have so many frames in my prezi that I have problems working on it. I can hardly see the objects because of the jungle of frames. WHAT IS THIS?! I'm working on my desk top version and I have a pro account. And I've paid 159 dollars. Please fix this. And it doesn't help me to get a complicated description of how to get rid of them from some other user. I'm not good enough with computers to solve the problem that way. The staff should fix the problem and stop the extra frames from coming.

1Hi
If you click on Capture View (in the path bubble menu) an invisible frame (invisible in "Show mode" not in "Edit mode") is added and a path step is set to it. But there is no need to use Capture View in order to make a path step, you should be in Path mode, and then click on the items you want to zoom into.
Let me know if this fixes your problem.

I'm new and almost done with my first Prezi. I created a frame and had trouble finding where to click so that I can move the frame along with the text box. I finally moved the text box to another location with a new bracket frame but I can't get rid of the original frame. It's a big rectangle on my page. I've tried clicking all over the rectangle and nothing. I can't even get a send forward or back option. It's just there. Any suggestions for getting rid of it?

I have the same problem. It is impossible to resize or delete a spesific frame. Inside the frame I have a picture. It is also impossible to grab the picture.
-
-
Solved... It is impossible to grab an object if you have another object in front of it. Even if it is transparent.
