Hi,
yesterday we had some issues with the server that we use to upload images to. It has been fixed since. Please get back to me if you still have issues with uploading. -

1Hi, now this cannot be affected by our servers since we don't have any issues related. Does this happen when you try to upload any files or just a few specific ones? Are you sure you are not behind a firewall/proxy?- view 2 more comments

Same here. Mac's wont but PCs will. Found the same thing with picture files etc with Glogster edu which is a pain for school use.

Hi, I have a problem like that, just is not with photos but pdfs

Hi, do you have large media files in your prezi? You can try to remove them one by one to filter out the one that could prevent the upload. Can you upload other prezis, or all are affected? Pls also try to upload an empty one to see.

I'm also working on a new prezi and I can't upload my first image. I've tried multiple file types. No firewall or network error.

I have the same problem too! I've tried every kind of file format but none works! This is really strange because it worked 2 days ago

For me it was that I had a parental filter on our computer called K9 security and even though I changed the settings to allow Prezi.com I still had the same problem of not being able to upload. I had to completely uninstall all filters before it allowed me to upload. That is what worked for me... hopefully that will be what your issue is.

Thanks for the feedback, Masanchez! indeed this error message always refers to a network issue. Since we don't have problems with thePrezi server on our side, there must be a filter/firewall setting that does not allow to use prezi, or upload media files to prezis. Austin, pls check your firewall/proxy/filter settings!

I'm having the same problem today with uploads (Error message "Technical details:id: 2500 the reason is: ErrorEvent ioError Error #2038" and our company IT team say its not a firewall issue here. Please update/confirm its your server and when it will be fixed. Time sensitive here, as I have to edit the Prezi for a public speaking engagement Friday at 9am!
-
Hi Mark, sorry but we did not have a server issue today. If you have this problem on your networks today and it was ok before it must be a local issue.

I'm having the same problem trying to upload .flv videos. If this IS a problem on our end, then please share step by step instructions on how to resolve it. Saying "our servers are working, so the problem is on your side" doesn't help 14 unhappy people feel better about Prezi.
I would expect that response from Dell, but not from a more progressive company like Prezi!- view 1 more comment

I am the network administrator at our place and yes we do you proxy servers. Prezi is NOT blocked and flash works on the whole rest of the internet.
Consult your admin staff / Read the manual / Our Servers are fine - the all equal the same thing: we dont care enough to troubleshoot it.
Perhaps at least, Prezi could implement some debugging code and give us a useful error. If they are so certain something is being blocked, test for it and report it back! -

Maybe these advice help.

I had this problem this evening from my home. I was using Firefox on Windows 7 which I use almost exclusively along with Chrome. I had changed the proxy settings in the Options.. menu to use 'No Proxy' however the error continued.
I finally solved the problem after I checked the proxy settings in Internet Explorer (which I use about twice a year if needed) and they were still set to my work's proxy number. Once I turned the proxy off there, Firefox and Prezi started cooperating.
I hope that helps someone else.
Cheers,
Mark- view 1 more comment

I too am having the same problem. This is my first time using Prezi, and I only have 3 text boxes and want to import a jpeg. I tried markjcameronsmith' solution, but to no avail. What are the precise steps i can take to solve this problem?
Thanks.

I'm having the same issue in our school. I have unblocked everything associated with prezi through the filter and still have no luck. Any help would be appreciated.

I too have had this problem... I smiply cannot load a video file (less than 20MB)... it asks if i have internet connection, which I do, then I get the error box...

Same problem here, file is less than 2MB, no firewalls, nothing. HELP! TIME SENSITIVE....

-
p.s. I uploaded this file from the same computer - seems getsatisfaction will allow, prezi? Tried all browsers....HELP

Jon, please try to convert the file to Flash before uploading. http://swftools.org/ should work, or any the many other options. To really exclude the possibility of a firewall, proxy or network problem, please try a VPN service.

Also have this problem - uploading files - if i change the proxy it will work but on our normal proxy it will not.
if I added www.prezi.com to our whitelist would this work as our teachers here cannot change the proxy-
Yes, white-listing prezi.com and Adobe Flash in your schools firewall/proxy should work. But as it is beyond our realm of influence, what the school or that particular filter software allows through, we can't guarantee that, sorry. Good luck!

Well, Prezi uses the Adobe Flash platform extensively. More like for example YouTube. If you never worked with anything similar before, you probably never noticed the company firewall restrictions before. Please ask the responsible IT people for help. Again: Flash needs to be allowed to both upload and download to prezi.com.
-
-
Thanks, Katrin. You're correct that I've never worked with anything similar before. I'll check with IT about firewall restrictions.

SOLUTION! My IT person sent me a Flash.exe file that completely elminated the 2038 error. The name of the file is install_flash_player_ax.exe. If you Google that name you'll get links to free download sites.

I am having this error too:
There is probably something in your network blocking the communication to prezi.com.
Technical details:
id: 510 the reason is: ErrorEvent ioError Error #2032
What should I do? -

There was nothing in the network blocking my communication to prezi. Did you try my solution? I posted this 6 days ago:

Ooops! I see you're referencing another error number (2032). This post is about error 2038.

I am a HS Business teacher and am trying to teach students how to use the site for presentations. For some reason, when students are trying to create or even view a prezi, there is an error message that reads :
" Something seems to be broken here, and tells us IO_ERROR.prezi.com/support might help."
This is only the case in one computer lab. I believe the lab is Windows Vista -

Katrin,
Students are now able to edit text and use prezi but now they are having issues (only today) with uploading pictures from internet or from files into prezi. There is an error message that reads:
" HUPS. BZZR.
You are not allowed to add a file to this prezi.
Technical Details:
id:2510 the reason is: ErrorEvent Security Error #2049"
What does this mean and how can I fix it. -

I’m
hoping this helps.
Also a firewall problem, most likely. Media files are uploaded to *.amazonaws.com so you need to white-list it as well. -

Have the same error when uploading a PPTx file.
Using a Mac OSX 10.7 and Chrome 18.0 which failed; so did Firefox.
Moved over to Safari 5.1 and it worked.
Prezi doens't get it either: I'm logged into my account but to post this I must use another service or login with credentials that then steal my other data. DUMB! -
-
Hi Arnold!
This forum is provided by a different company, ergo requires separate login.
Thanks for reporting back that Safari 5.1 worked. Did you check the proxy settings in Chrome and Firefox as suggested above?
Kind regards,
Katrin -

My issue is similar, I am able to upload some files while others come up with the error message id: 2500 the reason is: ErrorEvent ioError Error #2038. Other files of the same file type have uploaded via the same computer/network, however others will not.

I'm having the same problem of people over. When I try to import a file I get the error message # 2038.
Could you help us? We really need help with this issue.
Please.

The same here. I think there is some problem with Prezi and Linux clients. I've made these tests on my company network:
1) Windows PC without proxy: upload OK
2) Linux PC without proxy: upload FAIL
3) Windows PC with Squid proxy on Linux: upload FAIL
Result: our 4000 users can't use Prezi at work. -

Hey there,
I was trying to make a new prezi and I got the same error message. It said I didn't have enough memory to run prezi and then it didn't load the previews for the different templates I could use. I closed all my tabs and applications except for the tab with prezi yet it still said the same thing. I checked my memory on my computer and I still have 775GB to spare. I've only created one prezi so I don't understand why I'm not able to start a new prezi.
Help, please! -

Hi there! I have the same problems with any images, not the size, not the resolution...

Buen dia, no puedo insertarle fotografias al prezi inclusive le quite algunas diapositivas y me sale siempre este mensaje, y actualize ya la suscrpcion. this is most likely a local problem. Did you already try the advice I linked to above? If yes and the errors persist, can you provide the files you are trying to upload (via some 1-click file hosting service) and the URL of the target prezi?
Kind regards,
Katrin

Véanse las respuestas a continuación en este tema. Esp. a éste. El error es más probable debido a problemas de proxy o firewall en su final.
A menos que sólo un cierto prezi se ve afectada. En ese caso, por favor envíe su URL.
Saludos cordiales,
Katrin

Hi Elvira!
Please see the replies below in this topic. Esp. this one. The error is most likely due to firewall or proxy problems on your end.
Unless only a certain prezi is affected. In that case, please send its URL.
Kind regards,
Katrin
help!!!
Besides, if it's huge as you say, with lots of images and content, you will still experience the problem, your session will slow down, and in occasions your work will be lost.
My best choice: segment and get it done.
Good luck.
