hey,
say i embed a few youtube (or other) videos and then autoplay the prezi. is there a way to let the presentation not just wait 4/10/20 secs at every pathpoint, but until the respective video is done playing?
help on that would be GREAT :)
thanks

Hi
good idea, still we don't have this feature in Prezi. We always listen to our user's feedback, so your request have been heard by open ears :) -
-
I second this request. The Prezi I just completed (my very first!) includes three short video clips, and it would be great if the autoplay would allow the clip to play before moving on.
Apart from that, Prezi is amazing! Love it! -
-
-
-
thanks for the feedback. I have shared this with the development team.
-
-
I just typed up this same question before seeing it had already been asked- and answered. I'm bummed that I won't be able to use Prezi at an upcoming conference due to this limitation with playing Flash videos in the Autoplay mode. Would have been fun to using something new and different- and would have been great exposure for Prezi.
-
-
This is essential for me too. Any ideas on when it will be available?
-
-
Zoli, when would this be available?
Maybe a better suggestion would be to set an interval per (hidden) frame.
So we can 'override' some frames in the autoplay. -
-
On another topic reply, Zoli suggested taking a screencast of the Prezi in action, and using that as your primary playback for these types of applications. It is a second choice as a workaround but better than nothing until the feature is added...

-
Better timing for autoplay in general would be fabulous. The standardized times are not very useful. It would be fabulous if we could time each step on the path.

As a workaround there is a small piece of free software called 'Key Presser' which you can configure to control your Prezi with timings. In other words it controls the time intervals (while your away) by sending key presses to the keyboard (any keys combination - right/left arrow) and in this way you could time the video/progress through the Prezi. Seems to work . . .

-
Come on! What is the problem? I want this feature now! Please hurry up!
-
-
Is this feature still not available?
Was planning to use prezi on an info screen, but if I can't add timing to the video it wont work out. -
-
as angela points out, the whole autoplay timing issue is way too generic.
This is just like so many features that Prezi takes me 95% of the way, but the missing 5% sends me back into Powerpoint. -
-
Please take into account this must represent a major problem for the development team. It seems to me an extremly difficult to solve issue.
It is possibly at the same level of difficulty of allowing the user to enter an autoplay time instead of selecting between 4,10 and 20 seconds.
Nevertheless why would you need let ́s say 7, 9 or 30 seconds ? -
-
-
-
-
Not sure if this is suitable option but here it is:
This works for downloaded prezi for mac and pc and also on your own websites, blogs etc. You can set the time for each path point in prezi each can be different so if you have a video you can just set the interval time for that path point to exactly the length of the video before it moves automatically to the next path point. You can control each to the second. we have customers using them as self running prezi's at trade shows and also on their own websites and blogs.

as i say just a humble suggestion and there are demos for you to test too -
-

Hi All,
I'd like to announce the release of PreziFly, a free software tool for auto-playing online or downloaded Prezis. Using its graphical interface, you record custom slide times as you advance through your Prezi. Then PreziFly will build an executable player file to play your Prezi automatically. PreziFly can also play an audio track of background music or narration or both, bridging the transitions between path stops and providing a smoother experience.
You can distribute the player file and audio track to users or use the player file to auto-play and auto-loop your Prezi at trade shows or conventions. Full support for pause and resume is provided.
PreziFly works on Windows PCs or in Windows partitions on Macs. It is easy and convenient, and it's free. See http://www.myreckonings.com/prezi for more details and to download the software. You can also download demo player files for online and downloaded versions of a new Prezi describing PreziFly at
http://prezi.com/8vvkz5o9ykp_/
The combination of PreziFly and Prezi’s new theme, font, and color facelift moves the entire system into a compelling presentation vehicle for both “podium” and “web” presentations, both delivered in person and unattended. This functionality makes Prezi a platform with appeal to the corporate world. It is a full-up method to produce exciting presentations in a variety of venues.
Cheers,
Ron Doerfler

Thanks Ron for your contribution.
I insist it is a "shame" that users have to build this "workarounds" more or less elegant to add "BASIC FUNCTIONALITY" to the product.
Prezi team even recognized more than one year ago this was a "good idea".
Instead of focusing on demanded functionality they keep adding "nice to have" stuff.
Sorry to be so critic with Prezi team, but I am fed up.
The product idea is so good that it really hurts to see how are you (no) progressing with its development. -

GREAT JOB!!!
Does anyone know how to take the created file and put it in a program like Audacity and have it mark the breaks? -
-
Hi Al,
In PreziFly the last recorded slide times, one per line in milliseconds, are stored in the delays.txt file in the supportfiles subfolder (and you can also save a set of recorded times into a different file at any time that will be in the same format as delays.txt), and if you open that file you can add up the intervals as you go and manually create bookmarks in an audio recording application such as Audacity. That's the best way to do that if I understood your question correctly. One option, by the way, is to copy the contents of that file and paste them into an Excel spreadsheet, which will then have one interval per row, and then swiping a set of rows will show the total of the times at the bottom of the Excel window.

Glad to see there are options out there, but kinda surprised and definitely disappointed that this isn't built in to Prezi. Prezi rules, but this feature is a necessity for it to gain wide acceptance.
-
-
WOW .... incredibly disappointed that Prezi CAN NOT wait for a video to finish before proceeding .... this is a horrendous oversight. This is really a MUST HAVE feature in order to use Prezi in many business applications. Hey development team, can you PLEASE give us an ETA on this feature?
-
-
I agree on the absolute necessity of being able to adjust and customize Autoplay and how long it holds at each path stop. That feature is essentially useless without it.
-
-
Hi everyone, I agree totally about having flexibility with the timings for the autoplay function. Some slides take 3 minutes to read, others take longer, and not being able to have the autoplay wait until the video ends makes this a very difficult tool for professional presenters (like at TED) to use. I think it has to work on both PC and Mac platforms because designers are now seeing its value and wanting to work with it. What I would like to see is a timing (from 3 seconds to 45 seconds) for each point on the path.
Choose your path, then choose your timing and then it holds until the video is done playing. Hey Prezi team...you have a winner. Please move this suggestion along. Thanks. KK -
-
Come on Prezi! It's over 2 years since the first question on this was posted! Any news about this feature? If it's a no go, just say so, so we can get on with whatever we need to do to make our presentations work!
-
-
Its can be done its just not native in Prezi

To me not finishing video in autoplay sounds more like a bug than a missing feature.. been building a Prezi to auto play on big screens during a festival, and the auto play feature is just too limited. Wasted quite some time on this..
In the best case would like to set a time per frame, but at least finish videos completely... -
-
Hi All,
I'd like to announce the release of PreziFly version 1. 2. PreziFly is a free software tool for auto-playing online or downloaded Prezis. Among other new features, this release is required to work with the latest changes to the Prezi button layout.
Using the PreziFly graphical interface, you record and edit custom slide times in milliseconds as you advance through your Prezi. Then PreziFly will build an executable player file to play your Prezi automatically. PreziFly can also play an audio track of background music or narration or both, bridging the transitions between path stops and providing a seamless experience.
You can distribute the player file and audio track to users or use the player file to auto-play and auto-loop your Prezi at trade shows or conventions. Full support for pause and resume is provided.
See http://www.myreckonings.com/prezi for more details and to download the software. There are also new video tutorials there on using PreziFly.
Cheers,
Ron Doerfler

I agree with everyone above - we really need a solution for this one built be Prezi's developers
-
-
This was posted over 3 years ago and still no change? Wow, that's really impressive, Prezi!
-
-
I would love to see an update from someone at Prezi about how the development team is going with this feature.... the ability to specify autoplay timings - whether standard for the whole presentation, or customised per "slide" would be awesome.
-
-
Prezi: Take a feather out of Google's hat - buy PreziFly and incorporate the functionality into Prezi. Or hire the developer for a season to add this essential functionality into Prezi.
Loving Prezi, but sorely need this feature so that we can distribute a Prezi with two embedded YouTube videos and audio tracks on every other slide. -
-
Hi, a Prezi user here from past several years... This could have been an easy feature to develop by prezi team by now.. the function to allow users to set their own time frame between each slide or action to run the way they want in AutoPlay. Its not just about adding a video and not able to sync, but also there can be content of different types and size... and why would it have to stop for 10/20/30... sec even for just a transition step.. like, between a zoom out and zoom in to a slide... If this feature is added, it will be one of the best playback presentation tools out there.. Looking forward to this..
-
-
Really bad this feature is not here yet... Now i have to convert all to Powerpoint :-((

Just received an email from Peter Arvai - CEO at Prezi asking whether I would recommend Prezi. I gave it 7 out of 10 and stated basically that it was a very good program without being great and that works need to done to reach that height. Peter stated in his email that he wanted "to make Prezi the best presentation software on the planet" and hence valued my feedback. 3 YEARS for the video versus the timer situation to be rectified is ordinary Pete, Hope you guys aren't just sitting on your laurels.
