Accessibility
How accessible are prezi presentations? Can they be read by adaptive technology ie JAWS, etc.

We don't have a JAWS setup to test it. If you find out, will you please post here so we can share with other users?

I did run it through a JAWS program as a flash file. Flash is supposed to be accessible, but the Prezi flash file is not. Using JAWS, we were not able to access the menu that would allow keyboard control of the presentation which is essential for blind and vision impaired people. It is NOT accessible.

Angelie... our faculty love Prezi and we allow them to use it... but the non-accessible content and lack of key commands present a significant challenge in meeting Federal and State accessibility laws. I look forward to any additional announcements concerning accessibility compliance in the months to come.

Plain and simple. I can't use Prezi because of the lack of ADA compliance. It's too bad.

Any movement on the issue of accessibility? I've read through the various threads, and it seems the issue became one of Flash v. HTML5. But it's also possible to come at it from a different angle, such as by providing a simple way to "convert" the elements into text and export the text file. This would essentially create a script. such as:
Frame 1
Text: this is the title of my presentation
Zoom out 50%
Shift canvass right
Frame 2
Text: This is the first topic of my presentation
Rotate right 30 degrees
Zoom in 100 percent
Image: Velociraptor
etc.
This would also be useful for the instructor, who could use this lecture/speaking notes, or who could augment it with additional information and post it as a study guide.
c'mon, there is a huge population of teachers and professors who could benefit from something to move beyond powerpoint. But we MUST be able to meet the needs of our students who have accessibility needs. This path is in line with universal design as well, because it offers a benefit beyond just accessibility. -
